And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐδόθη — ἐδόθη was-given αὐτῷ — αὐτῷ to-him στόμα — στόμα a-mouth λαλοῦν — λαλοῦν speaking μεγάλα — μεγάλα great-things καὶ — καὶ and– βλασφημίας; — βλασφημίας; blasphemies καὶ — καὶ and– ἐδόθη — ἐδόθη was-given αὐτῷ — αὐτῷ to-him ἐξουσία — ἐξουσία authority ποιῆσαι — ποιῆσαι to-act μῆνας — μῆνας months τεσσεράκοντα — τεσσεράκοντα forty [καὶ] — [καὶ] and– δύο. — δύο. two
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11 Καὶ — Καὶ And– εἶδον — εἶδον I-saw ἄλλο — ἄλλο another θηρίον — θηρίον beast ἀναβαῖνον — ἀναβαῖνον coming-up ἐκ — ἐκ from τῆς — τῆς the γῆς, — γῆς, earth καὶ — καὶ and– εἶχεν — εἶχεν it-had κέρατα — κέρατα horns δύο — δύο two ὅμοια — ὅμοια like ἀρνίῳ, — ἀρνίῳ, a-lamb καὶ — καὶ and– ἐλάλει — ἐλάλει it-spoke ὡς — ὡς like δράκων; — δράκων; a-dragon
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 καὶ — καὶ and– τὴν — τὴν the ἐξουσίαν — ἐξουσίαν authority τοῦ — τοῦ of-the πρώτου — πρώτου first θηρίου — θηρίου beast πᾶσαν — πᾶσαν all ποιεῖ — ποιεῖ it-exercises ἐνώπιον — ἐνώπιον before αὐτοῦ, — αὐτοῦ, him καὶ — καὶ and– ποιεῖ — ποιεῖ makes τὴν — τὴν the γῆν — γῆν earth καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the-ones ἐν — ἐν in αὐτῇ — αὐτῇ it κατοικοῦντας, — κατοικοῦντας, dwelling ἵνα — ἵνα that– προσκυνήσουσιν — προσκυνήσουσιν they-will-worship τὸ — τὸ the θηρίον — θηρίον beast τὸ — τὸ – πρῶτον, — πρῶτον, first οὗ — οὗ whose ἐθεραπεύθη — ἐθεραπεύθη was-healed ἡ — ἡ the πληγὴ — πληγὴ wound τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θανάτου — θανάτου death αὐτοῦ. — αὐτοῦ. of-him
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 καὶ — καὶ and– ποιεῖ — ποιεῖ it-does σημεῖα — σημεῖα signs μεγάλα, — μεγάλα, great ἵνα — ἵνα that– καὶ — καὶ even– πῦρ — πῦρ fire ποιῇ — ποιῇ it-makes ἐκ — ἐκ from τοῦ — τοῦ – οὐρανοῦ — οὐρανοῦ heaven καταβαίνειν — καταβαίνειν to-come-down εἰς — εἰς onto τὴν — τὴν the γῆν — γῆν earth ἐνώπιον — ἐνώπιον before τῶν — τῶν the ἀνθρώπων. — ἀνθρώπων. men
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 καὶ — καὶ and– πλανᾷ — πλανᾷ it-deceives τοὺς — τοὺς the-ones κατοικοῦντας — κατοικοῦντας dwelling ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τῆς — τῆς the γῆς, — γῆς, earth διὰ — διὰ because-of τὰ — τὰ the σημεῖα — σημεῖα signs ἃ — ἃ which ἐδόθη — ἐδόθη was-given αὐτῷ — αὐτῷ to-it ποιῆσαι — ποιῆσαι to-do ἐνώπιον — ἐνώπιον before τοῦ — τοῦ the θηρίου, — θηρίου, beast λέγων — λέγων telling τοῖς — τοῖς the-ones κατοικοῦσιν — κατοικοῦσιν dwelling ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τῆς — τῆς the γῆς, — γῆς, earth ποιῆσαι — ποιῆσαι to-make εἰκόνα — εἰκόνα an-image τῷ — τῷ to-the θηρίῳ, — θηρίῳ, beast ὃς — ὃς who ἔχει — ἔχει has τὴν — τὴν the πληγὴν — πληγὴν wound τῆς — τῆς of-the μαχαίρης, — μαχαίρης, sword καὶ — καὶ and– ἔζησεν. — ἔζησεν. lived
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐδόθη — ἐδόθη was-given αὐτῷ — αὐτῷ to-it δοῦναι — δοῦναι to-give πνεῦμα — πνεῦμα breath τῇ — τῇ to-the εἰκόνι — εἰκόνι image τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θηρίου, — θηρίου, beast ἵνα — ἵνα that– καὶ — καὶ even– λαλήσῃ — λαλήσῃ might-speak ἡ — ἡ the εἰκὼν — εἰκὼν image τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θηρίου, — θηρίου, beast καὶ — καὶ and– ποιήσῃ — ποιήσῃ might-cause ἵνα — ἵνα that– ὅσοι — ὅσοι as-many-as ἐὰν — ἐὰν if μὴ — μὴ not προσκυνήσωσιν — προσκυνήσωσιν would-worship τῇ — τῇ the εἰκόνι — εἰκόνι image τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θηρίου, — θηρίου, beast ἀποκτανθῶσιν. — ἀποκτανθῶσιν. be-killed
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 καὶ — καὶ and– ποιεῖ — ποιεῖ it-makes πάντας — πάντας all τοὺς — τοὺς the μικροὺς, — μικροὺς, small καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the μεγάλους; — μεγάλους; great καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the πλουσίους, — πλουσίους, rich καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the πτωχούς; — πτωχούς; poor καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the ἐλευθέρους, — ἐλευθέρους, free καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the δούλους; — δούλους; slaves ἵνα — ἵνα that– δῶσιν — δῶσιν they-give αὐτοῖς — αὐτοῖς to-them χάραγμα — χάραγμα a-mark ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τῆς — τῆς the χειρὸς — χειρὸς hand αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them τῆς — τῆς – δεξιᾶς, — δεξιᾶς, right ἢ — ἢ or ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τὸ — τὸ the μέτωπον — μέτωπον forehead αὐτῶν; — αὐτῶν; of-them
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 καὶ — καὶ and– ἵνα — ἵνα that– μή — μή not τις — τις anyone δύνηται — δύνηται is-able ἀγοράσαι — ἀγοράσαι to-buy ἢ — ἢ or πωλῆσαι, — πωλῆσαι, to-sell εἰ — εἰ except μὴ — μὴ – ὁ — ὁ the-one ἔχων — ἔχων having τὸ — τὸ the χάραγμα -- — χάραγμα -- mark τὸ — τὸ the ὄνομα — ὄνομα name τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θηρίου, — θηρίου, beast ἢ — ἢ or τὸν — τὸν the ἀριθμὸν — ἀριθμὸν number τοῦ — τοῦ of-the ὀνόματος — ὀνόματος name αὐτοῦ. — αὐτοῦ. of-him
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Ὧδε — Ὧδε Here ἡ — ἡ the σοφία — σοφία wisdom ἐστίν. — ἐστίν. is ὁ — ὁ the-one ἔχων — ἔχων having νοῦν — νοῦν understanding ψηφισάτω — ψηφισάτω let-him-calculate τὸν — τὸν the ἀριθμὸν — ἀριθμὸν number τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θηρίου: — θηρίου: beast ἀριθμὸς — ἀριθμὸς number γὰρ — γὰρ for– ἀνθρώπου — ἀνθρώπου of-a-man ἐστίν; — ἐστίν; it-is καὶ — καὶ and– ὁ — ὁ the ἀριθμὸς — ἀριθμὸς number αὐτοῦ, — αὐτοῦ, of-him ἑξακόσιοι — ἑξακόσιοι six-hundred ἑξήκοντα — ἑξήκοντα sixty ἕξ. — ἕξ. six
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
