And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐρρέθη — ἐρρέθη it-was-said αὐταῖς, — αὐταῖς, to-them ἵνα — ἵνα that– μὴ — μὴ not ἀδικήσουσιν — ἀδικήσουσιν they-should-harm τὸν — τὸν the χόρτον — χόρτον grass τῆς — τῆς of-the γῆς, — γῆς, earth οὐδὲ — οὐδὲ nor– πᾶν — πᾶν any χλωρὸν, — χλωρὸν, green-thing οὐδὲ — οὐδὲ nor– πᾶν — πᾶν any δένδρον, — δένδρον, tree εἰ — εἰ except μὴ — μὴ – τοὺς — τοὺς the ἀνθρώπους — ἀνθρώπους men οἵτινες — οἵτινες who οὐκ — οὐκ not ἔχουσι — ἔχουσι have τὴν — τὴν the σφραγῖδα — σφραγῖδα seal τοῦ — τοῦ of– Θεοῦ — Θεοῦ God ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τῶν — τῶν the μετώπων. — μετώπων. foreheads
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐδόθη — ἐδόθη was-given αὐτοῖς — αὐτοῖς to-them ἵνα — ἵνα that– μὴ — μὴ not ἀποκτείνωσιν — ἀποκτείνωσιν they-should-kill αὐτούς, — αὐτούς, them ἀλλ’ — ἀλλ’ but– ἵνα — ἵνα that– βασανισθήσονται — βασανισθήσονται they-will-be-tormented μῆνας — μῆνας months πέντε; — πέντε; five καὶ — καὶ and– ὁ — ὁ the βασανισμὸς — βασανισμὸς torment αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ὡς — ὡς like βασανισμὸς — βασανισμὸς torment σκορπίου, — σκορπίου, of-a-scorpion ὅταν — ὅταν when παίσῃ — παίσῃ it-strikes ἄνθρωπον. — ἄνθρωπον. a-man
And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐν — ἐν in ταῖς — ταῖς the ἡμέραις — ἡμέραις days ἐκείναις, — ἐκείναις, those ζητήσουσιν — ζητήσουσιν will-seek οἱ — οἱ the ἄνθρωποι — ἄνθρωποι men τὸν — τὸν the θάνατον, — θάνατον, death καὶ — καὶ and– οὐ — οὐ not μὴ — μὴ – εὑρήσουσιν — εὑρήσουσιν will-find αὐτόν; — αὐτόν; it καὶ — καὶ and– ἐπιθυμήσουσιν — ἐπιθυμήσουσιν will-desire ἀποθανεῖν, — ἀποθανεῖν, to-die καὶ — καὶ and– φεύγει — φεύγει flees ὁ — ὁ the θάνατος — θάνατος death ἀπ’ — ἀπ’ from αὐτῶν. — αὐτῶν. them
And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7 καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ the ὁμοιώματα — ὁμοιώματα likenesses τῶν — τῶν of-the ἀκρίδων — ἀκρίδων locusts ὅμοια — ὅμοια like ἵπποις — ἵπποις horses ἡτοιμασμένοις — ἡτοιμασμένοις prepared εἰς — εἰς for πόλεμον, — πόλεμον, war καὶ — καὶ and– ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τὰς — τὰς the κεφαλὰς — κεφαλὰς heads αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them ὡς — ὡς like στέφανοι, — στέφανοι, crowns ὅμοιοι — ὅμοιοι like χρυσῷ; — χρυσῷ; gold καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ the πρόσωπα — πρόσωπα faces αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ὡς — ὡς like πρόσωπα — πρόσωπα faces ἀνθρώπων; — ἀνθρώπων; of-men
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9 καὶ — καὶ and– εἶχον — εἶχον they-had θώρακας — θώρακας breastplates ὡς — ὡς like θώρακας — θώρακας breastplates σιδηροῦς; — σιδηροῦς; iron καὶ — καὶ and– ἡ — ἡ the φωνὴ — φωνὴ sound τῶν — τῶν of-the πτερύγων — πτερύγων wings αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ὡς — ὡς like φωνὴ — φωνὴ sound ἁρμάτων — ἁρμάτων of-chariots ἵππων — ἵππων of-horses πολλῶν, — πολλῶν, many τρεχόντων — τρεχόντων running εἰς — εἰς into πόλεμον; — πόλεμον; war
And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
10 καὶ — καὶ and– ἔχουσιν — ἔχουσιν they-have οὐρὰς — οὐρὰς tails ὁμοίας — ὁμοίας like σκορπίοις, — σκορπίοις, scorpions καὶ — καὶ and– κέντρα; — κέντρα; stings καὶ — καὶ and– ἐν — ἐν in ταῖς — ταῖς the οὐραῖς — οὐραῖς tails αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them ἡ — ἡ the ἐξουσία — ἐξουσία authority αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ἀδικῆσαι — ἀδικῆσαι to-harm τοὺς — τοὺς the ἀνθρώπους — ἀνθρώπους men μῆνας — μῆνας months πέντε. — πέντε. five
And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12 Ἡ — Ἡ The Οὐαὶ — Οὐαὶ Woe ἡ — ἡ – μία — μία one ἀπῆλθεν. — ἀπῆλθεν. has-passed ἰδοὺ, — ἰδοὺ, behold ἔρχεται — ἔρχεται comes ἔτι — ἔτι yet δύο — δύο two Οὐαὶ — Οὐαὶ Woes μετὰ — μετὰ after ταῦτα. — ταῦτα. these-things
One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
13 Καὶ — Καὶ And– ὁ — ὁ the ἕκτος — ἕκτος sixth ἄγγελος — ἄγγελος angel ἐσάλπισεν; — ἐσάλπισεν; trumpeted καὶ — καὶ and– ἤκουσα — ἤκουσα I-heard φωνὴν — φωνὴν voice μίαν, — μίαν, one ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the τεσσάρων — τεσσάρων four κεράτων — κεράτων horns τοῦ — τοῦ of-the θυσιαστηρίου — θυσιαστηρίου altar τοῦ — τοῦ – χρυσοῦ, — χρυσοῦ, golden τοῦ — τοῦ – ἐνώπιον — ἐνώπιον before τοῦ — τοῦ – Θεοῦ, — Θεοῦ, God
And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 λέγοντα — λέγοντα saying τῷ — τῷ to-the ἕκτῳ — ἕκτῳ sixth ἀγγέλῳ, — ἀγγέλῳ, angel ὁ — ὁ the-one ἔχων — ἔχων having τὴν — τὴν the σάλπιγγα, — σάλπιγγα, trumpet Λῦσον — Λῦσον Release τοὺς — τοὺς the τέσσαρας — τέσσαρας four ἀγγέλους, — ἀγγέλους, angels τοὺς — τοὺς – δεδεμένους — δεδεμένους having-been-bound ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ at τῷ — τῷ the ποταμῷ — ποταμῷ river τῷ — τῷ – μεγάλῳ — μεγάλῳ great Εὐφράτῃ. — Εὐφράτῃ. Euphrates
Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐλύθησαν — ἐλύθησαν were-released οἱ — οἱ the τέσσαρες — τέσσαρες four ἄγγελοι, — ἄγγελοι, angels οἱ — οἱ – ἡτοιμασμένοι — ἡτοιμασμένοι having-been-prepared εἰς — εἰς for τὴν — τὴν the ὥραν, — ὥραν, hour καὶ — καὶ and– ἡμέραν, — ἡμέραν, day καὶ — καὶ and– μῆνα, — μῆνα, month καὶ — καὶ and– ἐνιαυτόν, — ἐνιαυτόν, year ἵνα — ἵνα that– ἀποκτείνωσιν — ἀποκτείνωσιν they-might-kill τὸ — τὸ the τρίτον — τρίτον third τῶν — τῶν of-the ἀνθρώπων; — ἀνθρώπων; men
And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16 καὶ — καὶ and– ὁ — ὁ the ἀριθμὸς — ἀριθμὸς number τῶν — τῶν of-the στρατευμάτων — στρατευμάτων armies τοῦ — τοῦ of-the ἱππικοῦ — ἱππικοῦ cavalry δισμυριάδες — δισμυριάδες two-myriads (μυριάδες) — (μυριάδες) (myriads) μυριάδων; — μυριάδων; of-myriads ἤκουσα — ἤκουσα I-heard τὸν — τὸν the ἀριθμὸν — ἀριθμὸν number αὐτῶν. — αὐτῶν. of-them
And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17 καὶ — καὶ and– οὕτως — οὕτως thus εἶδον — εἶδον I-saw τοὺς — τοὺς the ἵππους — ἵππους horses ἐν — ἐν in τῇ — τῇ the ὁράσει, — ὁράσει, vision καὶ — καὶ and– τοὺς — τοὺς the-ones καθημένους — καθημένους sitting ἐπ’ — ἐπ’ on αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, them ἔχοντας — ἔχοντας having θώρακας — θώρακας breastplates πυρίνους, — πυρίνους, fiery καὶ — καὶ and– ὑακινθίνους, — ὑακινθίνους, hyacinth-colored καὶ — καὶ and– θειώδεις; — θειώδεις; sulfurous καὶ — καὶ and– αἱ — αἱ the κεφαλαὶ — κεφαλαὶ heads τῶν — τῶν of-the ἵππων — ἵππων horses ὡς — ὡς like κεφαλαὶ — κεφαλαὶ heads λεόντων, — λεόντων, of-lions καὶ — καὶ and– ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the στομάτων — στομάτων mouths αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ἐκπορεύεται — ἐκπορεύεται goes-out πῦρ, — πῦρ, fire καὶ — καὶ and– καπνὸς, — καπνὸς, smoke καὶ — καὶ and– θεῖον. — θεῖον. sulfur
And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18 ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from τῶν — τῶν the τριῶν — τριῶν three πληγῶν — πληγῶν plagues τούτων, — τούτων, these ἀπεκτάνθησαν — ἀπεκτάνθησαν were-killed τὸ — τὸ the τρίτον — τρίτον third τῶν — τῶν of-the ἀνθρώπων, — ἀνθρώπων, men ἐκ — ἐκ from τοῦ — τοῦ the πυρὸς, — πυρὸς, fire καὶ — καὶ and– τοῦ — τοῦ the καπνοῦ, — καπνοῦ, smoke καὶ — καὶ and– τοῦ — τοῦ the θείου, — θείου, sulfur τοῦ — τοῦ – ἐκπορευομένου — ἐκπορευομένου going-out ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the στομάτων — στομάτων mouths αὐτῶν. — αὐτῶν. of-them
By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19 ἡ — ἡ the γὰρ — γὰρ for– ἐξουσία — ἐξουσία authority τῶν — τῶν of-the ἵππων, — ἵππων, horses ἐν — ἐν in τῷ — τῷ the στόματι — στόματι mouth αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ἐστιν; — ἐστιν; is καὶ — καὶ and– ἐν — ἐν in ταῖς — ταῖς the οὐραῖς — οὐραῖς tails αὐτῶν; — αὐτῶν; of-them αἱ — αἱ the γὰρ — γὰρ for– οὐραὶ — οὐραὶ tails αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of-them ὅμοιαι — ὅμοιαι like ὄφεσιν, — ὄφεσιν, serpents ἔχουσαι — ἔχουσαι having κεφαλάς, — κεφαλάς, heads καὶ — καὶ and– ἐν — ἐν with αὐταῖς — αὐταῖς them ἀδικοῦσιν. — ἀδικοῦσιν. they-harm
For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20 ‹Καὶ — ‹Καὶ And– οἱ — οἱ the λοιποὶ — λοιποὶ rest τῶν — τῶν of-the ἀνθρώπων — ἀνθρώπων men οἳ — οἳ who οὐκ — οὐκ not ἀπεκτάνθησαν — ἀπεκτάνθησαν were-killed ἐν — ἐν by ταῖς — ταῖς the πληγαῖς — πληγαῖς plagues ταύταις, — ταύταις, these οὐδὲ — οὐδὲ neither– μετενόησαν — μετενόησαν repented ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the ἔργων — ἔργων works τῶν — τῶν of-the χειρῶν — χειρῶν hands αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them ἵνα — ἵνα that– μὴ — μὴ not προσκυνήσουσιν — προσκυνήσουσιν they-will-worship τὰ — τὰ the δαιμόνια, — δαιμόνια, demons καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ the εἴδωλα — εἴδωλα idols τὰ — τὰ – χρυσᾶ, — χρυσᾶ, golden καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ – ἀργυρᾶ, — ἀργυρᾶ, silver καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ – χαλκᾶ, — χαλκᾶ, bronze καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ – λίθινα, — λίθινα, stone καὶ — καὶ and– τὰ — τὰ – ξύλινα, — ξύλινα, wooden ἃ — ἃ which οὔτε — οὔτε neither– βλέπειν — βλέπειν to-see δύνανται, — δύνανται, are-able οὔτε — οὔτε nor– ἀκούειν, — ἀκούειν, to-hear οὔτε — οὔτε nor– περιπατεῖν›. — περιπατεῖν›. to-walk
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21 καὶ — καὶ and– οὐ — οὐ not μετενόησαν — μετενόησαν they-repented ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the φόνων — φόνων murders αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them οὔτε — οὔτε nor– ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the φαρμάκων — φαρμάκων sorceries αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them οὔτε — οὔτε nor– ἐκ — ἐκ from τῆς — τῆς the πορνείας — πορνείας fornication αὐτῶν, — αὐτῶν, of-them οὔτε — οὔτε nor– ἐκ — ἐκ from τῶν — τῶν the κλεμμάτων — κλεμμάτων thefts αὐτῶν. — αὐτῶν. of-them
Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
