For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 μετριοπαθεῖν — μετριοπαθεῖν to–deal–gently δυνάμενος, — δυνάμενος, being–able τοῖς — τοῖς with–the–ones– ἀγνοοῦσιν — ἀγνοοῦσιν being–ignorant καὶ — καὶ and– πλανωμένοις, — πλανωμένοις, going–astray ἐπεὶ — ἐπεὶ since– καὶ — καὶ also– αὐτὸς — αὐτὸς he περίκειται — περίκειται is–clothed–with ἀσθένειαν; — ἀσθένειαν; weakness
Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 καὶ — καὶ and– δι’ — δι’ because–of– αὐτὴν — αὐτὴν it ὀφείλει, — ὀφείλει, he–is–obligated καθὼς — καθὼς just–as– περὶ — περὶ for– τοῦ — τοῦ the– λαοῦ, — λαοῦ, people οὕτως — οὕτως so– καὶ — καὶ also– περὶ — περὶ for– αὑτοῦ, — αὑτοῦ, himself προσφέρειν — προσφέρειν to–offer περὶ — περὶ for– ἁμαρτιῶν. — ἁμαρτιῶν. sins
And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 καθὼς — καθὼς just–as– καὶ — καὶ also– ἐν — ἐν in– ἑτέρῳ — ἑτέρῳ another λέγει, — λέγει, he–says Σὺ — Σὺ you ἱερεὺς — ἱερεὺς priest εἰς — εἰς for– τὸν — τὸν the– αἰῶνα, — αἰῶνα, age κατὰ — κατὰ according–to– τὴν — τὴν the– τάξιν — τάξιν order Μελχισέδεκ; — Μελχισέδεκ; of–Melchisedēk
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 καίπερ — καίπερ although– ὢν — ὢν being Υἱός, — Υἱός, Son ἔμαθεν — ἔμαθεν he–learned ἀφ’ — ἀφ’ from– ὧν — ὧν what ἔπαθεν, — ἔπαθεν, he–suffered τὴν — τὴν the– ὑπακοήν, — ὑπακοήν, obedience
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 καὶ — καὶ and– τελειωθεὶς, — τελειωθεὶς, having–been–perfected ἐγένετο — ἐγένετο he–became πᾶσιν, — πᾶσιν, to–all τοῖς — τοῖς the–ones– ὑπακούουσιν — ὑπακούουσιν obeying αὐτῷ, — αὐτῷ, him αἴτιος — αἴτιος source σωτηρίας — σωτηρίας of–salvation αἰωνίου; — αἰωνίου; eternal
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 πᾶς — πᾶς everyone– γὰρ — γὰρ for– ὁ — ὁ the–one– μετέχων — μετέχων partaking γάλακτος — γάλακτος of–milk ἄπειρος — ἄπειρος unskilled λόγου — λόγου in–word δικαιοσύνης; — δικαιοσύνης; of–righteousness νήπιος — νήπιος infant γάρ — γάρ for– ἐστιν; — ἐστιν; he–is
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 τελείων — τελείων of–mature δέ — δέ but– ἐστιν — ἐστιν is ἡ — ἡ the– στερεὰ — στερεὰ solid τροφή, — τροφή, food τῶν — τῶν of–the–ones– διὰ — διὰ because–of– τὴν — τὴν the– ἕξιν — ἕξιν practice τὰ — τὰ the– αἰσθητήρια — αἰσθητήρια senses γεγυμνασμένα — γεγυμνασμένα having–been–trained ἐχόντων, — ἐχόντων, having πρὸς — πρὸς for– διάκρισιν — διάκρισιν discernment καλοῦ — καλοῦ of–good τε, — τε, both– καὶ — καὶ and– κακοῦ. — κακοῦ. of–evil
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
