Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?

Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13 ἕτεροι — ἕτεροι others δὲ — δὲ but– διαχλευάζοντες — διαχλευάζοντες mocking ἔλεγον, — ἔλεγον, were–saying ὅτι — ὅτι that Γλεύκους — Γλεύκους of–sweet–wine μεμεστωμένοι — μεμεστωμένοι having–been–filled εἰσίν. — εἰσίν. they–are
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 καί‿ — καί‿ and– γε — γε indeed ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τοὺς — τοὺς the– δούλους — δούλους male–servants μου, — μου, of–me καὶ — καὶ and ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ upon τὰς — τὰς the– δούλας — δούλας female–servants μου, — μου, of–me ἐν — ἐν in ταῖς — ταῖς the– ἡμέραις — ἡμέραις days ἐκείναις, — ἐκείναις, those ἐκχεῶ — ἐκχεῶ I–will–pour–out ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from τοῦ — τοῦ the– Πνεύματός — Πνεύματός Spirit μου, — μου, of–me καὶ — καὶ and προφητεύσουσιν; — προφητεύσουσιν; they–will–prophesy
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 καὶ — καὶ and δώσω — δώσω I–will–give τέρατα — τέρατα wonders ἐν — ἐν in τῷ — τῷ the– οὐρανῷ — οὐρανῷ heaven ἄνω, — ἄνω, above καὶ — καὶ and σημεῖα — σημεῖα signs ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ on τῆς — τῆς the– γῆς — γῆς earth κάτω, — κάτω, below αἷμα — αἷμα blood καὶ — καὶ and πῦρ — πῦρ fire καὶ — καὶ and ἀτμίδα — ἀτμίδα vapor καπνοῦ. — καπνοῦ. of–smoke
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 ὁ — ὁ the– ἥλιος — ἥλιος sun μεταστραφήσεται — μεταστραφήσεται shall–be–turned εἰς — εἰς into σκότος, — σκότος, darkness καὶ — καὶ and ἡ — ἡ the– σελήνη — σελήνη moon εἰς — εἰς into αἷμα, — αἷμα, blood πρὶν — πρὶν before ‹ἢ› — ‹ἢ› or– ἐλθεῖν — ἐλθεῖν comes ἡμέραν — ἡμέραν day Κυρίου — Κυρίου of–Kyrios τὴν, — τὴν, the– μεγάλην — μεγάλην great καὶ — καὶ and ἐπιφανῆ. — ἐπιφανῆ. glorious
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 καὶ — καὶ and ἔσται, — ἔσται, it–shall–be πᾶς — πᾶς everyone ὃς — ὃς who ἐὰν — ἐὰν if– ἐπικαλέσηται — ἐπικαλέσηται shall–call–upon τὸ — τὸ the– ὄνομα — ὄνομα name Κυρίου — Κυρίου of–Kyrios σωθήσεται. — σωθήσεται. shall–be–saved
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 τοῦτον, — τοῦτον, this–one τῇ — τῇ by–the– ὡρισμένῃ — ὡρισμένῃ determined βουλῇ — βουλῇ counsel καὶ — καὶ and προγνώσει — προγνώσει foreknowledge τοῦ — τοῦ of–the– Θεοῦ, — Θεοῦ, Theos ἔκδοτον — ἔκδοτον given–over διὰ — διὰ through χειρὸς — χειρὸς hand ἀνόμων, — ἀνόμων, of–lawless–ones προσπήξαντες — προσπήξαντες having–nailed–up ἀνείλατε. — ἀνείλατε. you–killed
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 ἐγνώρισάς — ἐγνώρισάς you–made–known μοι — μοι to–me ὁδοὺς — ὁδοὺς ways ζωῆς; — ζωῆς; of–life πληρώσεις — πληρώσεις you–will–fill με — με me εὐφροσύνης — εὐφροσύνης of–gladness μετὰ — μετὰ with τοῦ — τοῦ the– προσώπου — προσώπου face σου. — σου. of–you
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 τοῦτον — τοῦτον this τὸν — τὸν the– Ἰησοῦν — Ἰησοῦν Iēsous ἀνέστησεν — ἀνέστησεν raised–up ὁ — ὁ the– Θεός, — Θεός, Theos οὗ — οὗ of–whom πάντες — πάντες all ἡμεῖς — ἡμεῖς we ἐσμεν — ἐσμεν are μάρτυρες. — μάρτυρες. witnesses
This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 ἀσφαλῶς — ἀσφαλῶς assuredly οὖν — οὖν therefore γινωσκέτω — γινωσκέτω let–know πᾶς — πᾶς all οἶκος — οἶκος house Ἰσραὴλ, — Ἰσραὴλ, of–Israēl ὅτι — ὅτι that καὶ — καὶ both Κύριον — Κύριον Kyrios αὐτὸν, — αὐτὸν, him καὶ — καὶ and Χριστὸν — Χριστὸν Christos ἐποίησεν — ἐποίησεν made ὁ — ὁ the– Θεός, — Θεός, Theos τοῦτον — τοῦτον this τὸν — τὸν the– Ἰησοῦν — Ἰησοῦν Iēsous ὃν — ὃν whom ὑμεῖς — ὑμεῖς you ἐσταυρώσατε. — ἐσταυρώσατε. crucified
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Ἀκούσαντες — Ἀκούσαντες having–heard δὲ — δὲ and– κατενύγησαν — κατενύγησαν they–were–pierced τὴν — τὴν in–the– καρδίαν, — καρδίαν, heart εἶπόν — εἶπόν they–said τε — τε and– πρὸς — πρὸς to τὸν — τὸν the– Πέτρον — Πέτρον Petros καὶ — καὶ and τοὺς — τοὺς the– λοιποὺς — λοιποὺς rest ἀποστόλους, — ἀποστόλους, apostles Τί — Τί what ποιήσωμεν, — ποιήσωμεν, shall–we–do ἄνδρες, — ἄνδρες, men ἀδελφοί? — ἀδελφοί? brothers
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 ἑτέροις — ἑτέροις with–other τε — τε and– λόγοις — λόγοις words πλείοσιν — πλείοσιν many διεμαρτύρατο, — διεμαρτύρατο, he–testified καὶ — καὶ and παρεκάλει — παρεκάλει was–exhorting αὐτοὺς, — αὐτοὺς, them λέγων, — λέγων, saying Σώθητε — Σώθητε be–saved ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from τῆς — τῆς the– γενεᾶς — γενεᾶς generation τῆς — τῆς the– σκολιᾶς — σκολιᾶς crooked ταύτης. — ταύτης. this
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 οἱ — οἱ the–ones μὲν — μὲν indeed– οὖν — οὖν therefore ἀποδεξάμενοι — ἀποδεξάμενοι having–received τὸν — τὸν the– λόγον — λόγον word αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him ἐβαπτίσθησαν; — ἐβαπτίσθησαν; were–baptized καὶ — καὶ and προσετέθησαν — προσετέθησαν were–added ἐν — ἐν in τῇ — τῇ the– ἡμέρᾳ — ἡμέρᾳ day ἐκείνῃ, — ἐκείνῃ, that ψυχαὶ — ψυχαὶ souls ὡσεὶ — ὡσεὶ about τρισχίλιαι. — τρισχίλιαι. three–thousand
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 ἦσαν — ἦσαν they–were δὲ — δὲ and– προσκαρτεροῦντες — προσκαρτεροῦντες continuing–steadfastly τῇ — τῇ in–the– διδαχῇ — διδαχῇ teaching τῶν — τῶν of–the– ἀποστόλων, — ἀποστόλων, apostles καὶ — καὶ and τῇ — τῇ in–the– κοινωνίᾳ, — κοινωνίᾳ, fellowship τῇ — τῇ in–the– κλάσει — κλάσει breaking τοῦ — τοῦ of–the– ἄρτου, — ἄρτου, bread καὶ — καὶ and ταῖς — ταῖς in–the– προσευχαῖς. — προσευχαῖς. prayers
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 Ἐγίνετο — Ἐγίνετο was–coming δὲ — δὲ and– πάσῃ — πάσῃ upon–every ψυχῇ — ψυχῇ soul φόβος, — φόβος, fear πολλά — πολλά many τε — τε and– τέρατα — τέρατα wonders καὶ — καὶ and σημεῖα, — σημεῖα, signs διὰ — διὰ through τῶν — τῶν the– ἀποστόλων — ἀποστόλων apostles ἐγίνετο. — ἐγίνετο. were–happening
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 πάντες — πάντες all δὲ — δὲ and– οἱ — οἱ the–ones πιστεύοντες — πιστεύοντες believing ‹ἦσαν› — ‹ἦσαν› were ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ at τὸ — τὸ the– αὐτὸ, — αὐτὸ, same–place ‹καὶ› — ‹καὶ› and εἶχον — εἶχον were–having ἅπαντα — ἅπαντα all–things κοινά; — κοινά; common
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 καὶ — καὶ and τὰ — τὰ the– κτήματα — κτήματα possessions καὶ — καὶ and τὰς — τὰς the– ὑπάρξεις — ὑπάρξεις properties ἐπίπρασκον, — ἐπίπρασκον, they–were–selling καὶ — καὶ and διεμέριζον — διεμέριζον were–distributing αὐτὰ — αὐτὰ them πᾶσιν, — πᾶσιν, to–all καθότι — καθότι as ἄν — ἄν – τις — τις anyone χρείαν — χρείαν need εἶχεν. — εἶχεν. had
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 καθ’ — καθ’ every– ἡμέραν — ἡμέραν day τε — τε and– προσκαρτεροῦντες — προσκαρτεροῦντες continuing–steadfastly ὁμοθυμαδὸν — ὁμοθυμαδὸν with–one–accord ἐν — ἐν in τῷ — τῷ the– ἱερῷ, — ἱερῷ, temple κλῶντές — κλῶντές breaking τε — τε and– κατ’ — κατ’ from–house–to– οἶκον — οἶκον house ἄρτον, — ἄρτον, bread μετελάμβανον — μετελάμβανον they–were–partaking τροφῆς — τροφῆς of–food ἐν — ἐν in ἀγαλλιάσει — ἀγαλλιάσει gladness καὶ — καὶ and ἀφελότητι — ἀφελότητι simplicity καρδίας, — καρδίας, of–heart
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 αἰνοῦντες — αἰνοῦντες praising τὸν — τὸν the– Θεὸν, — Θεὸν, Theos καὶ — καὶ and ἔχοντες — ἔχοντες having χάριν — χάριν favor πρὸς — πρὸς with ὅλον — ὅλον all τὸν — τὸν the– λαόν. — λαόν. people ὁ — ὁ the– δὲ — δὲ and– Κύριος — Κύριος Kyrios προσετίθει — προσετίθει was–adding τοὺς — τοὺς the–ones σῳζομένους — σῳζομένους being–saved καθ’ — καθ’ every– ἡμέραν — ἡμέραν day ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ at τὸ — τὸ the– αὐτό. — αὐτό. same–place
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
