And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 Αἰτεῖτε, — Αἰτεῖτε, Ask καὶ — καὶ and– δοθήσεται — δοθήσεται it–will–be–given ὑμῖν; — ὑμῖν; to–you ζητεῖτε, — ζητεῖτε, seek καὶ — καὶ and– εὑρήσετε; — εὑρήσετε; you–will–find κρούετε, — κρούετε, knock καὶ — καὶ and– ἀνοιγήσεται — ἀνοιγήσεται it–will–be–opened ὑμῖν. — ὑμῖν. to–you
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 πᾶς — πᾶς everyone γὰρ — γὰρ for– ὁ — ὁ the– αἰτῶν — αἰτῶν asking λαμβάνει; — λαμβάνει; receives καὶ — καὶ and– ὁ — ὁ the– ζητῶν, — ζητῶν, seeking εὑρίσκει; — εὑρίσκει; finds καὶ — καὶ and– τῷ — τῷ to–the– κρούοντι, — κρούοντι, knocking ἀνοιγήσεται. — ἀνοιγήσεται. it–will–be–opened
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 ἢ — ἢ or– καὶ — καὶ also– ἰχθὺν — ἰχθὺν fish αἰτήσει: — αἰτήσει: will–ask μὴ — μὴ not– ὄφιν — ὄφιν serpent ἐπιδώσει — ἐπιδώσει will–he–give αὐτῷ? — αὐτῷ? to–him
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 εἰ — εἰ if οὖν — οὖν therefore– ὑμεῖς, — ὑμεῖς, you πονηροὶ — πονηροὶ evil ὄντες, — ὄντες, being οἴδατε — οἴδατε know δόματα — δόματα gifts ἀγαθὰ — ἀγαθὰ good διδόναι — διδόναι to–give τοῖς — τοῖς to–the– τέκνοις — τέκνοις children ὑμῶν, — ὑμῶν, of–you πόσῳ — πόσῳ how–much μᾶλλον — μᾶλλον more ὁ — ὁ the– Πατὴρ — Πατὴρ Father ὑμῶν — ὑμῶν of–you ὁ — ὁ the– ἐν — ἐν in– τοῖς — τοῖς the– οὐρανοῖς — οὐρανοῖς heavens δώσει — δώσει will–give ἀγαθὰ — ἀγαθὰ good–things τοῖς — τοῖς to–the– αἰτοῦσιν — αἰτοῦσιν asking αὐτόν? — αὐτόν? him
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 ὅτι — ὅτι for στενὴ — στενὴ narrow ἡ — ἡ the– πύλη — πύλη gate καὶ — καὶ and– τεθλιμμένη — τεθλιμμένη constricted ἡ — ἡ the– ὁδὸς — ὁδὸς way ἡ — ἡ the– ἀπάγουσα — ἀπάγουσα leading εἰς — εἰς to– τὴν — τὴν the– ζωήν, — ζωήν, life καὶ — καὶ and– ὀλίγοι — ὀλίγοι few εἰσὶν — εἰσὶν are οἱ — οἱ the– εὑρίσκοντες — εὑρίσκοντες finding αὐτήν. — αὐτήν. it
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Προσέχετε — Προσέχετε Beware ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ of– τῶν — τῶν the– ψευδοπροφητῶν, — ψευδοπροφητῶν, false–prophets οἵτινες — οἵτινες who ἔρχονται — ἔρχονται come πρὸς — πρὸς to– ὑμᾶς — ὑμᾶς you ἐν — ἐν in– ἐνδύμασιν — ἐνδύμασιν clothing προβάτων, — προβάτων, of–sheep ἔσωθεν — ἔσωθεν inwardly δέ — δέ but– εἰσιν — εἰσιν are λύκοι — λύκοι wolves ἅρπαγες. — ἅρπαγες. ravenous
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ by– τῶν — τῶν the– καρπῶν — καρπῶν fruits αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of–them ἐπιγνώσεσθε — ἐπιγνώσεσθε you–will–recognize αὐτούς. — αὐτούς. them μήτι — μήτι not– συλλέγουσιν — συλλέγουσιν do–they–gather ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from– ἀκανθῶν — ἀκανθῶν thorns σταφυλὰς, — σταφυλὰς, grapes ἢ — ἢ or– ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from– τριβόλων — τριβόλων thistles σῦκα? — σῦκα? figs
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 οὕτως — οὕτως thus πᾶν — πᾶν every δένδρον — δένδρον tree ἀγαθὸν, — ἀγαθὸν, good καρποὺς — καρποὺς fruits καλοὺς — καλοὺς good ποιεῖ; — ποιεῖ; produces τὸ — τὸ the– δὲ — δὲ but– σαπρὸν — σαπρὸν bad δένδρον, — δένδρον, tree καρποὺς — καρποὺς fruits πονηροὺς — πονηροὺς evil ποιεῖ. — ποιεῖ. produces
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 οὐ — οὐ not δύναται — δύναται is–able δένδρον — δένδρον tree ἀγαθὸν, — ἀγαθὸν, good καρποὺς — καρποὺς fruits πονηροὺς — πονηροὺς evil ποιεῖν; — ποιεῖν; to–produce οὐδὲ — οὐδὲ nor– δένδρον — δένδρον tree σαπρὸν, — σαπρὸν, bad καρποὺς — καρποὺς fruits καλοὺς — καλοὺς good ποιεῖν. — ποιεῖν. to–produce
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 πᾶν — πᾶν every δένδρον — δένδρον tree μὴ — μὴ not– ποιοῦν — ποιοῦν producing καρπὸν — καρπὸν fruit καλὸν — καλὸν good ἐκκόπτεται — ἐκκόπτεται is–cut–down καὶ — καὶ and– εἰς — εἰς into– πῦρ — πῦρ fire βάλλεται. — βάλλεται. is–thrown
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 ἄρα¦γε — ἄρα¦γε so–then– ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ by– τῶν — τῶν the– καρπῶν — καρπῶν fruits αὐτῶν — αὐτῶν of–them ἐπιγνώσεσθε — ἐπιγνώσεσθε you–will–recognize αὐτούς. — αὐτούς. them
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Οὐ — Οὐ Not πᾶς — πᾶς everyone ὁ — ὁ the– λέγων — λέγων saying μοι, — μοι, to–me Κύριε, — Κύριε, Lord Κύριε, — Κύριε, Lord εἰσελεύσεται — εἰσελεύσεται will–enter εἰς — εἰς into– τὴν — τὴν the– βασιλείαν — βασιλείαν kingdom τῶν — τῶν of–the– οὐρανῶν, — οὐρανῶν, heavens ἀλλ’ — ἀλλ’ but– ὁ — ὁ the– ποιῶν — ποιῶν doing τὸ — τὸ the– θέλημα — θέλημα will τοῦ — τοῦ of–the– Πατρός — Πατρός Father μου, — μου, of–me τοῦ — τοῦ the– ἐν — ἐν in– τοῖς — τοῖς the– οὐρανοῖς. — οὐρανοῖς. heavens
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 πολλοὶ — πολλοὶ many ἐροῦσίν — ἐροῦσίν will–say μοι — μοι to–me ἐν — ἐν in– ἐκείνῃ — ἐκείνῃ that τῇ — τῇ the– ἡμέρᾳ, — ἡμέρᾳ, day Κύριε, — Κύριε, Lord Κύριε, — Κύριε, Lord οὐ — οὐ not τῷ — τῷ in–the– σῷ — σῷ your ὀνόματι — ὀνόματι name ἐπροφητεύσαμεν, — ἐπροφητεύσαμεν, did–we–prophesy καὶ — καὶ and– τῷ — τῷ in–the– σῷ — σῷ your ὀνόματι — ὀνόματι name δαιμόνια — δαιμόνια demons ἐξεβάλομεν, — ἐξεβάλομεν, did–we–cast–out καὶ — καὶ and– τῷ — τῷ in–the– σῷ — σῷ your ὀνόματι — ὀνόματι name δυνάμεις — δυνάμεις miracles πολλὰς — πολλὰς many ἐποιήσαμεν? — ἐποιήσαμεν? did–we–do
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 καὶ — καὶ and– τότε — τότε then ὁμολογήσω — ὁμολογήσω I–will–declare αὐτοῖς, — αὐτοῖς, to–them ὅτι — ὅτι that Οὐδέποτε — Οὐδέποτε Never ἔγνων — ἔγνων I–knew ὑμᾶς; — ὑμᾶς; you ἀποχωρεῖτε — ἀποχωρεῖτε depart ἀπ’ — ἀπ’ from– ἐμοῦ, — ἐμοῦ, me οἱ — οἱ the– ἐργαζόμενοι — ἐργαζόμενοι working τὴν — τὴν the– ἀνομίαν. — ἀνομίαν. lawlessness
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Πᾶς — Πᾶς Everyone οὖν, — οὖν, therefore– ὅστις — ὅστις whoever ἀκούει — ἀκούει hears μου — μου of–me τοὺς — τοὺς the– λόγους — λόγους words τούτους, — τούτους, these καὶ — καὶ and– ποιεῖ — ποιεῖ does αὐτούς, — αὐτούς, them ὁμοιωθήσεται — ὁμοιωθήσεται will–be–likened ἀνδρὶ — ἀνδρὶ to–man φρονίμῳ, — φρονίμῳ, wise ὅστις — ὅστις who ᾠκοδόμησεν — ᾠκοδόμησεν built αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him τὴν — τὴν the– οἰκίαν — οἰκίαν house ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ on– τὴν — τὴν the– πέτραν. — πέτραν. rock
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 καὶ — καὶ and– κατέβη — κατέβη came–down ἡ — ἡ the– βροχὴ, — βροχὴ, rain καὶ — καὶ and– ἦλθον — ἦλθον came οἱ — οἱ the– ποταμοὶ, — ποταμοὶ, rivers καὶ — καὶ and– ἔπνευσαν — ἔπνευσαν blew οἱ — οἱ the– ἄνεμοι, — ἄνεμοι, winds καὶ — καὶ and– προσέπεσαν — προσέπεσαν fell–upon τῇ — τῇ the– οἰκίᾳ — οἰκίᾳ house ἐκείνῃ; — ἐκείνῃ; that καὶ — καὶ and– οὐκ — οὐκ not ἔπεσεν, — ἔπεσεν, it–fell τεθεμελίωτο — τεθεμελίωτο it–had–been–founded γὰρ — γὰρ for– ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ on– τὴν — τὴν the– πέτραν. — πέτραν. rock
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 καὶ — καὶ and– πᾶς — πᾶς everyone ὁ — ὁ the– ἀκούων — ἀκούων hearing μου — μου of–me τοὺς — τοὺς the– λόγους — λόγους words τούτους, — τούτους, these καὶ — καὶ and– μὴ — μὴ not– ποιῶν — ποιῶν doing αὐτοὺς, — αὐτοὺς, them ὁμοιωθήσεται — ὁμοιωθήσεται will–be–likened ἀνδρὶ — ἀνδρὶ to–man μωρῷ, — μωρῷ, foolish ὅστις — ὅστις who ᾠκοδόμησεν — ᾠκοδόμησεν built αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him τὴν — τὴν the– οἰκίαν — οἰκίαν house ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ on– τὴν — τὴν the– ἄμμον. — ἄμμον. sand
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 καὶ — καὶ and– κατέβη — κατέβη came–down ἡ — ἡ the– βροχὴ, — βροχὴ, rain καὶ — καὶ and– ἦλθον — ἦλθον came οἱ — οἱ the– ποταμοὶ, — ποταμοὶ, rivers καὶ — καὶ and– ἔπνευσαν — ἔπνευσαν blew οἱ — οἱ the– ἄνεμοι, — ἄνεμοι, winds καὶ — καὶ and– προσέκοψαν — προσέκοψαν beat–against τῇ — τῇ the– οἰκίᾳ — οἰκίᾳ house ἐκείνῃ, — ἐκείνῃ, that καὶ — καὶ and– ἔπεσεν-- — ἔπεσεν-- it–fell καὶ — καὶ and– ἦν — ἦν was ἡ — ἡ the– πτῶσις — πτῶσις fall αὐτῆς — αὐτῆς of–it μεγάλη. — μεγάλη. great
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 Καὶ — Καὶ And– ἐγένετο, — ἐγένετο, it–happened ὅτε — ὅτε when ἐτέλεσεν — ἐτέλεσεν finished ὁ — ὁ the– Ἰησοῦς — Ἰησοῦς Iēsous τοὺς — τοὺς the– λόγους — λόγους words τούτους, — τούτους, these ἐξεπλήσσοντο — ἐξεπλήσσοντο were–astonished οἱ — οἱ the– ὄχλοι — ὄχλοι crowds ἐπὶ — ἐπὶ at– τῇ — τῇ the– διδαχῇ — διδαχῇ teaching αὐτοῦ, — αὐτοῦ, of–him
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 ἦν — ἦν he–was γὰρ — γὰρ for– διδάσκων — διδάσκων teaching αὐτοὺς — αὐτοὺς them ὡς — ὡς as– ἐξουσίαν — ἐξουσίαν authority ἔχων, — ἔχων, having καὶ — καὶ and– οὐχ — οὐχ not ὡς — ὡς as– οἱ — οἱ the– γραμματεῖς — γραμματεῖς scribes αὐτῶν. — αὐτῶν. of–them
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
