The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים — אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים God מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ — מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ from–heaven הִשְׁקִ֪יף — הִשְׁקִ֪יף looks–down עַֽל־ — עַֽל־ upon בְּנֵ֫י — בְּנֵ֫י sons–of אָדָ֥ם — אָדָ֥ם man לִ֭רְאוֹת — לִ֭רְאוֹת to–see הֲיֵ֣שׁ — הֲיֵ֣שׁ if–there–is מַשְׂכִּ֑יל — מַשְׂכִּ֑יל one–who–understands דֹּ֝רֵ֗שׁ — דֹּ֝רֵ֗שׁ one–seeking אֶת־ — אֶת־ [obj] אֱלֹהִֽים׃ — אֱלֹהִֽים׃ God
God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 כֻּלּ֥וֹ — כֻּלּ֥וֹ all סָג֮ — סָג֮ have–turned–aside יַחְדָּ֪ו — יַחְדָּ֪ו together נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ — נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ they–have–become–corrupt אֵ֤ין — אֵ֤ין there–is–no עֹֽשֵׂה־ — עֹֽשֵׂה־ one–doing ט֑וֹב — ט֑וֹב good אֵ֝֗ין — אֵ֝֗ין there–is–no גַּם־ — גַּם־ even אֶחָֽד׃ — אֶחָֽד׃ one
Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 הֲלֹ֥א — הֲלֹ֥א do–not יָדְעוּ֮ — יָדְעוּ֮ know פֹּ֤עֲלֵ֫י — פֹּ֤עֲלֵ֫י workers–of אָ֥וֶן — אָ֥וֶן wickedness אֹכְלֵ֣י — אֹכְלֵ֣י those–eating עַ֭מִּי — עַ֭מִּי My–people אָ֣כְלוּ — אָ֣כְלוּ they–eat לֶ֑חֶם — לֶ֑חֶם bread אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים — אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים God לֹ֣א — לֹ֣א not קָרָֽאוּ׃ — קָרָֽאוּ׃ they–call–upon
Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5 שָׁ֤ם ׀ — שָׁ֤ם ׀ there פָּֽחֲדוּ־ — פָּֽחֲדוּ־ they–were–in–dread פַחַד֮ — פַחַד֮ a–dread לֹא־ — לֹא־ not הָ֪יָה֫ — הָ֪יָה֫ there–was פָ֥חַד — פָ֥חַד dread כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for אֱלֹהִ֗ים — אֱלֹהִ֗ים God פִּ֭זַּר — פִּ֭זַּר scatters עַצְמ֣וֹת — עַצְמ֣וֹת bones–of חֹנָ֑ךְ — חֹנָ֑ךְ one–encamping–against–you הֱ֝בִשֹׁ֗תָה — הֱ֝בִשֹׁ֗תָה you–have–put–to–shame כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for אֱלֹהִ֥ים — אֱלֹהִ֥ים God מְאָסָֽם׃ — מְאָסָֽם׃ has–rejected–them
There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
6 מִ֥י — מִ֥י who יִתֵּ֣ן — יִתֵּ֣ן will–give מִצִּיּוֹן֮ — מִצִּיּוֹן֮ from–Zion יְשֻׁע֪וֹת — יְשֻׁע֪וֹת salvations–of יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל — יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל Israel בְּשׁ֣וּב — בְּשׁ֣וּב when–restores אֱ֭לֹהִים — אֱ֭לֹהִים God שְׁב֣וּת — שְׁב֣וּת fortunes–of עַמּ֑וֹ — עַמּ֑וֹ His–people יָגֵ֥ל — יָגֵ֥ל let–rejoice יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב — יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב Jacob יִשְׂמַ֥ח — יִשְׂמַ֥ח let–be–glad יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ — יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel
Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
