Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
10 ὃς — ὃς who ἐκ — ἐκ from τηλικούτου — τηλικούτου so–great θανάτου — θανάτου death ἐρρύσατο — ἐρρύσατο delivered ἡμᾶς, — ἡμᾶς, us καὶ — καὶ and– ῥύσεται; — ῥύσεται; will–deliver εἰς — εἰς unto ὃν — ὃν whom ἠλπίκαμεν, — ἠλπίκαμεν, we–have–hoped ὅτι — ὅτι that καὶ — καὶ also– ἔτι — ἔτι yet ῥύσεται; — ῥύσεται; He–will–deliver
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
13 οὐ — οὐ not– γὰρ — γὰρ for– ἄλλα — ἄλλα other–things γράφομεν — γράφομεν we–write ὑμῖν, — ὑμῖν, to–you ἀλλ’ — ἀλλ’ but– ἢ — ἢ than ἃ — ἃ what ἀναγινώσκετε, — ἀναγινώσκετε, you–read ἢ — ἢ or– καὶ — καὶ also– ἐπιγινώσκετε; — ἐπιγινώσκετε; you–recognize ἐλπίζω — ἐλπίζω I–hope δὲ — δὲ and– ὅτι — ὅτι that ἕως — ἕως until τέλους — τέλους end ἐπιγνώσεσθε, — ἐπιγνώσεσθε, you–will–recognize
For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
14 καθὼς — καθὼς just–as καὶ — καὶ also– ἐπέγνωτε — ἐπέγνωτε you–recognized ἡμᾶς — ἡμᾶς us ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from μέρους, — μέρους, part ὅτι — ὅτι that καύχημα — καύχημα boast ὑμῶν — ὑμῶν of–you ἐσμεν, — ἐσμεν, we–are καθάπερ — καθάπερ just–as καὶ — καὶ also– ὑμεῖς — ὑμεῖς you ἡμῶν, — ἡμῶν, ours ἐν — ἐν in τῇ — τῇ the– ἡμέρᾳ — ἡμέρᾳ day τοῦ — τοῦ of–the– Κυρίου — Κυρίου Lord ἡμῶν, — ἡμῶν, of–us Ἰησοῦ. — Ἰησοῦ. As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
15 Καὶ — Καὶ And– ταύτῃ — ταύτῃ in–this τῇ — τῇ the– πεποιθήσει — πεποιθήσει confidence ἐβουλόμην — ἐβουλόμην I–was–wanting πρότερον, — πρότερον, formerly πρὸς — πρὸς to ὑμᾶς — ὑμᾶς you ἐλθεῖν, — ἐλθεῖν, to–come ἵνα — ἵνα that δευτέραν — δευτέραν second χάριν — χάριν grace σχῆτε; — σχῆτε; you–might–have
And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;
16 καὶ — καὶ and– δι’ — δι’ through ὑμῶν — ὑμῶν you διελθεῖν — διελθεῖν to–pass–through εἰς — εἰς unto Μακεδονίαν, — Μακεδονίαν, Makedonia καὶ — καὶ and– πάλιν — πάλιν again ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from Μακεδονίας — Μακεδονίας Makedonia ἐλθεῖν — ἐλθεῖν to–come πρὸς — πρὸς to ὑμᾶς, — ὑμᾶς, you καὶ — καὶ and– ὑφ’ — ὑφ’ by ὑμῶν — ὑμῶν you προπεμφθῆναι — προπεμφθῆναι to–be–sent–forward εἰς — εἰς unto τὴν — τὴν the– Ἰουδαίαν. — Ἰουδαίαν. Ioudaia
And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judea.
17 τοῦτο — τοῦτο this οὖν — οὖν therefore– βουλόμενος, — βουλόμενος, wanting μήτι — μήτι surely–not ἄρα — ἄρα then τῇ — τῇ the– ἐλαφρίᾳ — ἐλαφρίᾳ lightness ἐχρησάμην? — ἐχρησάμην? did–I–use ἢ — ἢ or– ἃ — ἃ what βουλεύομαι, — βουλεύομαι, I–plan κατὰ — κατὰ according–to σάρκα — σάρκα flesh βουλεύομαι, — βουλεύομαι, do–I–plan ἵνα — ἵνα that ᾖ — ᾖ might–be παρ’ — παρ’ with ἐμοὶ — ἐμοὶ me τό — τό the– Ναί, — Ναί, Yes ναὶ, — ναὶ, yes καὶ — καὶ and– τὸ — τὸ the– Οὔ, — Οὔ, No οὔ? — οὔ? no
When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?

But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
24 οὐχ — οὐχ not– ὅτι — ὅτι that κυριεύομεν — κυριεύομεν we–lord–over ὑμῶν — ὑμῶν of–you τῆς — τῆς the– πίστεως, — πίστεως, faith ἀλλὰ — ἀλλὰ but– συνεργοί — συνεργοί fellow–workers ἐσμεν — ἐσμεν we–are τῆς — τῆς of–the– χαρᾶς — χαρᾶς joy ὑμῶν; — ὑμῶν; of–you τῇ — τῇ for–by–the– γὰρ — γὰρ for– πίστει — πίστει faith ἑστήκατε. — ἑστήκατε. you–stand
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
