Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 ἡμεῖς — ἡμεῖς we δὲ — δὲ but– τῇ — τῇ in–the– προσευχῇ — προσευχῇ prayer καὶ — καὶ and τῇ — τῇ in–the– διακονίᾳ — διακονίᾳ ministry τοῦ — τοῦ of–the– λόγου — λόγου word προσκαρτερήσομεν. — προσκαρτερήσομεν. will–continue–steadfastly
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6 οὓς — οὓς whom ἔστησαν — ἔστησαν they–set ἐνώπιον — ἐνώπιον before τῶν — τῶν the– ἀποστόλων; — ἀποστόλων; apostles καὶ — καὶ and προσευξάμενοι, — προσευξάμενοι, having–prayed ἐπέθηκαν — ἐπέθηκαν they–laid αὐτοῖς — αὐτοῖς on–them τὰς — τὰς the– χεῖρας. — χεῖρας. hands
Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 Στέφανος — Στέφανος Stephanos δὲ, — δὲ, and– πλήρης — πλήρης full χάριτος — χάριτος of–grace καὶ — καὶ and δυνάμεως, — δυνάμεως, of–power ἐποίει — ἐποίει was–doing τέρατα — τέρατα wonders καὶ — καὶ and σημεῖα — σημεῖα signs μεγάλα — μεγάλα great ἐν — ἐν among τῷ — τῷ the– λαῷ. — λαῷ. people
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
10 καὶ — καὶ and οὐκ — οὐκ not ἴσχυον — ἴσχυον they–were–able ἀντιστῆναι — ἀντιστῆναι to–withstand τῇ — τῇ the– σοφίᾳ — σοφίᾳ wisdom καὶ — καὶ and τῷ — τῷ the– Πνεύματι — Πνεύματι Spirit ᾧ — ᾧ by–which ἐλάλει. — ἐλάλει. he–was–speaking
And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
11 τότε — τότε then ὑπέβαλον — ὑπέβαλον they–secretly–induced ἄνδρας, — ἄνδρας, men λέγοντας, — λέγοντας, saying ὅτι — ὅτι that Ἀκηκόαμεν — Ἀκηκόαμεν we–have–heard αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ him λαλοῦντος — λαλοῦντος speaking ῥήματα — ῥήματα words βλάσφημα — βλάσφημα blasphemous εἰς — εἰς against Μωϋσῆν — Μωϋσῆν Mōysēs καὶ — καὶ and τὸν — τὸν the– Θεόν. — Θεόν. Theos
Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.
12 συνεκίνησάν — συνεκίνησάν they–stirred–up τε — τε and– τὸν — τὸν the– λαὸν, — λαὸν, people καὶ — καὶ and τοὺς — τοὺς the– πρεσβυτέρους, — πρεσβυτέρους, elders καὶ — καὶ and τοὺς — τοὺς the– γραμματεῖς, — γραμματεῖς, scribes καὶ — καὶ and ἐπιστάντες, — ἐπιστάντες, having–come–upon συνήρπασαν — συνήρπασαν they–seized αὐτὸν, — αὐτὸν, him καὶ — καὶ and ἤγαγον — ἤγαγον brought εἰς — εἰς into τὸ — τὸ the– συνέδριον, — συνέδριον, council
And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
13 ἔστησάν — ἔστησάν they–set–up τε — τε and– μάρτυρας — μάρτυρας witnesses ψευδεῖς, — ψευδεῖς, false λέγοντας, — λέγοντας, saying Ὁ — Ὁ the– ἄνθρωπος — ἄνθρωπος man οὗτος, — οὗτος, this οὐ — οὐ not παύεται — παύεται ceases λαλῶν — λαλῶν speaking ῥήματα — ῥήματα words κατὰ — κατὰ against τοῦ — τοῦ the– τόπου — τόπου place τοῦ — τοῦ the– ἁγίου — ἁγίου holy [τούτου], — [τούτου], this καὶ — καὶ and τοῦ — τοῦ the– νόμου; — νόμου; law
And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
14 ἀκηκόαμεν — ἀκηκόαμεν we–have–heard γὰρ — γὰρ for αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ him λέγοντος, — λέγοντος, saying ὅτι — ὅτι that Ἰησοῦς — Ἰησοῦς Iēsous ὁ — ὁ the– Ναζωραῖος — Ναζωραῖος Nazōraios οὗτος, — οὗτος, this καταλύσει — καταλύσει will–destroy τὸν — τὸν the– τόπον — τόπον place τοῦτον, — τοῦτον, this καὶ — καὶ and ἀλλάξει — ἀλλάξει will–change τὰ — τὰ the– ἔθη — ἔθη customs ἃ — ἃ which παρέδωκεν — παρέδωκεν handed–down ἡμῖν — ἡμῖν to–us Μωϋσῆς. — Μωϋσῆς. Mōysēs
For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
15 καὶ — καὶ and ἀτενίσαντες — ἀτενίσαντες having–gazed εἰς — εἰς at αὐτὸν, — αὐτὸν, him πάντες — πάντες all οἱ — οἱ the–ones καθεζόμενοι — καθεζόμενοι sitting ἐν — ἐν in τῷ — τῷ the– συνεδρίῳ — συνεδρίῳ council εἶδον — εἶδον saw τὸ — τὸ the– πρόσωπον — πρόσωπον face αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him ὡσεὶ — ὡσεὶ as πρόσωπον — πρόσωπον a–face ἀγγέλου. — ἀγγέλου. of–an–angel
And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
