And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judea,

And from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

And Simon he surnamed Peter;

And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
18 καὶ — καὶ and– Ἀνδρέαν, — Ἀνδρέαν, Andreas καὶ — καὶ and– Φίλιππον, — Φίλιππον, Philippos καὶ — καὶ and– Βαρθολομαῖον, — Βαρθολομαῖον, Bartholomaios καὶ — καὶ and– Μαθθαῖον, — Μαθθαῖον, Matthaios καὶ — καὶ and– Θωμᾶν, — Θωμᾶν, Thōmas καὶ — καὶ and– Ἰάκωβον — Ἰάκωβον Iakōbos τὸν — τὸν the τοῦ — τοῦ of–the Ἁλφαίου, — Ἁλφαίου, Alphaios καὶ — καὶ and– Θαδδαῖον, — Θαδδαῖον, Thaddaios καὶ — καὶ and– Σίμωνα — Σίμωνα Simōn τὸν — τὸν the Καναναῖον, — Καναναῖον, Cananaean
And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
19 καὶ — καὶ and– Ἰούδαν — Ἰούδαν Ioudas Ἰσκαριώθ, — Ἰσκαριώθ, Iskariōth ὃς — ὃς who καὶ — καὶ also παρέδωκεν — παρέδωκεν betrayed αὐτόν. — αὐτόν. him
And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
20 Καὶ — Καὶ And– ἔρχεται — ἔρχεται he-comes εἰς — εἰς into οἶκον, — οἶκον, house καὶ — καὶ and– συνέρχεται — συνέρχεται comes-together πάλιν — πάλιν again ὁ — ὁ the ὄχλος, — ὄχλος, crowd ὥστε — ὥστε so-that μὴ — μὴ not δύνασθαι — δύνασθαι to-be-able αὐτοὺς — αὐτοὺς them μηδὲ — μηδὲ not-even ἄρτον — ἄρτον bread φαγεῖν. — φαγεῖν. to-eat
And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
21 καὶ — καὶ and– ἀκούσαντες, — ἀκούσαντες, hearing οἱ — οἱ the παρ’ — παρ’ from αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ him ἐξῆλθον — ἐξῆλθον went-out κρατῆσαι — κρατῆσαι to-seize αὐτόν; — αὐτόν; him ἔλεγον — ἔλεγον they-were-saying γὰρ, — γὰρ, for– ὅτι — ὅτι that– ἐξέστη. — ἐξέστη. he-is-out-of-his-mind
And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.
22 καὶ — καὶ and– οἱ — οἱ the γραμματεῖς, — γραμματεῖς, scribes οἱ — οἱ the ἀπὸ — ἀπὸ from Ἱεροσολύμων — Ἱεροσολύμων Jerusalem καταβάντες, — καταβάντες, having-come-down ἔλεγον, — ἔλεγον, were-saying ὅτι — ὅτι that– Βεελζεβοὺλ — Βεελζεβοὺλ Beelzeboul ἔχει; — ἔχει; he-has καὶ — καὶ and– ὅτι — ὅτι that– ἐν — ἐν by τῷ — τῷ the ἄρχοντι — ἄρχοντι ruler τῶν — τῶν of–the δαιμονίων — δαιμονίων demons ἐκβάλλει — ἐκβάλλει he-casts-out τὰ — τὰ the δαιμόνια. — δαιμόνια. demons
And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 καὶ — καὶ and– προσκαλεσάμενος — προσκαλεσάμενος having-summoned αὐτοὺς, — αὐτοὺς, them ἐν — ἐν in παραβολαῖς — παραβολαῖς parables ἔλεγεν — ἔλεγεν he-was-saying αὐτοῖς, — αὐτοῖς, to–them Πῶς — Πῶς How δύναται — δύναται is-able Σατανᾶς — Σατανᾶς Satan Σατανᾶν — Σατανᾶν Satan ἐκβάλλειν? — ἐκβάλλειν? to-cast-out
And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐὰν — ἐὰν if βασιλεία — βασιλεία kingdom ἐφ’ — ἐφ’ against ἑαυτὴν — ἑαυτὴν itself μερισθῇ, — μερισθῇ, is-divided οὐ — οὐ not δύναται — δύναται is-able σταθῆναι — σταθῆναι to-stand ἡ — ἡ the βασιλεία — βασιλεία kingdom ἐκείνη. — ἐκείνη. that
And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐὰν — ἐὰν if οἰκία — οἰκία house ἐφ’ — ἐφ’ against ἑαυτὴν — ἑαυτὴν itself μερισθῇ, — μερισθῇ, is-divided οὐ — οὐ not δυνήσεται — δυνήσεται will-be-able ἡ — ἡ the οἰκία — οἰκία house ἐκείνη — ἐκείνη that σταθῆναι. — σταθῆναι. to-stand
And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 καὶ — καὶ and– εἰ — εἰ if ὁ — ὁ the Σατανᾶς — Σατανᾶς Satan ἀνέστη — ἀνέστη has-risen ἐφ’ — ἐφ’ against ἑαυτὸν — ἑαυτὸν himself καὶ — καὶ and– ἐμερίσθη, — ἐμερίσθη, has-been-divided οὐ — οὐ not δύναται — δύναται he-is-able στῆναι, — στῆναι, to-stand ἀλλὰ — ἀλλὰ but– τέλος — τέλος end ἔχει. — ἔχει. he-has
And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 ἀλλ’ — ἀλλ’ but– οὐ — οὐ not δύναται⇔ — δύναται⇔ is-able οὐδεὶς, — οὐδεὶς, no-one εἰς — εἰς into τὴν — τὴν the οἰκίαν — οἰκίαν house τοῦ — τοῦ of–the ἰσχυροῦ, — ἰσχυροῦ, strong-one εἰσελθὼν, — εἰσελθὼν, entering τὰ — τὰ the σκεύη — σκεύη goods αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him διαρπάσαι, — διαρπάσαι, to-plunder ἐὰν — ἐὰν if μὴ — μὴ not πρῶτον — πρῶτον first τὸν — τὸν the ἰσχυρὸν — ἰσχυρὸν strong-one δήσῃ. — δήσῃ. he-binds καὶ — καὶ and– τότε — τότε then τὴν — τὴν the οἰκίαν — οἰκίαν house αὐτοῦ — αὐτοῦ of–him διαρπάσει. — διαρπάσει. he-will-plunder
No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Ἀμὴν — Ἀμὴν Amen λέγω — λέγω I-say ὑμῖν, — ὑμῖν, to–you ὅτι — ὅτι that– πάντα — πάντα all-things ἀφεθήσεται — ἀφεθήσεται will-be-forgiven τοῖς — τοῖς the υἱοῖς — υἱοῖς sons τῶν — τῶν of–the ἀνθρώπων, — ἀνθρώπων, men τὰ — τὰ the ἁμαρτήματα — ἁμαρτήματα sins καὶ — καὶ and– αἱ — αἱ the βλασφημίαι, — βλασφημίαι, blasphemies ὅσα — ὅσα as-many-as ἐὰν — ἐὰν if βλασφημήσωσιν. — βλασφημήσωσιν. they-blaspheme
Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 ὃς — ὃς who δ’ — δ’ but– ἂν — ἂν ever βλασφημήσῃ — βλασφημήσῃ blasphemes εἰς — εἰς against τὸ — τὸ the Πνεῦμα — Πνεῦμα Spirit τὸ — τὸ the Ἅγιον, — Ἅγιον, Holy οὐκ — οὐκ not ἔχει — ἔχει has ἄφεσιν — ἄφεσιν forgiveness εἰς — εἰς into τὸν — τὸν the αἰῶνα, — αἰῶνα, age ἀλλὰ — ἀλλὰ but– ἔνοχός — ἔνοχός guilty ἐστιν — ἐστιν is αἰωνίου — αἰωνίου of–eternal ἁμαρτήματος-- — ἁμαρτήματος-- sin
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 ὅτι — ὅτι because ἔλεγον, — ἔλεγον, they-were-saying Πνεῦμα — Πνεῦμα Spirit ἀκάθαρτον — ἀκάθαρτον unclean ἔχει. — ἔχει. he-has
Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
31 Καὶ — Καὶ And– ἔρχονται — ἔρχονται come ἡ — ἡ the μήτηρ — μήτηρ mother αὐτοῦ, — αὐτοῦ, of–him καὶ — καὶ and– οἱ — οἱ the ἀδελφοὶ — ἀδελφοὶ brothers αὐτοῦ, — αὐτοῦ, of–him καὶ — καὶ and– ἔξω — ἔξω outside στήκοντες, — στήκοντες, standing ἀπέστειλαν — ἀπέστειλαν they-sent πρὸς — πρὸς to αὐτὸν, — αὐτὸν, him καλοῦντες — καλοῦντες calling αὐτόν. — αὐτόν. him
There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
32 καὶ — καὶ and– ἐκάθητο — ἐκάθητο was-sitting περὶ — περὶ around αὐτὸν — αὐτὸν him ὄχλος. — ὄχλος. crowd καὶ — καὶ and– λέγουσιν — λέγουσιν they-say αὐτῷ, — αὐτῷ, to–him Ἰδοὺ, — Ἰδοὺ, Behold ἡ — ἡ the μήτηρ — μήτηρ mother σου, — σου, of–you καὶ — καὶ and– οἱ — οἱ the ἀδελφοί — ἀδελφοί brothers σου, — σου, of–you καὶ — καὶ and– αἱ — αἱ the ἀδελφαί — ἀδελφαί sisters σου, — σου, of–you ἔξω — ἔξω outside ζητοῦσίν — ζητοῦσίν are-seeking σε. — σε. you
And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
34 καὶ — καὶ and– περιβλεψάμενος — περιβλεψάμενος looking-around-at τοὺς — τοὺς the περὶ — περὶ around αὐτὸν — αὐτὸν him κύκλῳ — κύκλῳ in-circle καθημένους, — καθημένους, sitting λέγει, — λέγει, he-says Ἴδε, — Ἴδε, Behold ἡ — ἡ the μήτηρ — μήτηρ mother μου, — μου, of–me καὶ — καὶ and– οἱ — οἱ the ἀδελφοί — ἀδελφοί brothers μου! — μου! of–me
And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
