In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 שְׂרָפִ֨ים — שְׂרָפִ֨ים seraphim עֹמְדִ֤ים ׀ — עֹמְדִ֤ים ׀ standing מִמַּ֙עַל֙ — מִמַּ֙עַל֙ above ל֔וֹ — ל֔וֹ to–him שֵׁ֧שׁ — שֵׁ֧שׁ six כְּנָפַ֛יִם — כְּנָפַ֛יִם wings שֵׁ֥שׁ — שֵׁ֥שׁ six כְּנָפַ֖יִם — כְּנָפַ֖יִם wings לְאֶחָ֑ד — לְאֶחָ֑ד to–each בִּשְׁתַּ֣יִם ׀ — בִּשְׁתַּ֣יִם ׀ with–two יְכַסֶּ֣ה — יְכַסֶּ֣ה he-covers פָנָ֗יו — פָנָ֗יו his–face וּבִשְׁתַּ֛יִם — וּבִשְׁתַּ֛יִם and–with–two יְכַסֶּ֥ה — יְכַסֶּ֥ה he-covers רַגְלָ֖יו — רַגְלָ֖יו his–feet וּבִשְׁתַּ֥יִם — וּבִשְׁתַּ֥יִם and–with–two יְעוֹפֵֽף׃ — יְעוֹפֵֽף׃ he-flies
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 וְקָרָ֨א — וְקָרָ֨א and–called זֶ֤ה — זֶ֤ה this אֶל־ — אֶל־ to– זֶה֙ — זֶה֙ this וְאָמַ֔ר — וְאָמַ֔ר and–said קָד֧וֹשׁ ׀ — קָד֧וֹשׁ ׀ holy קָד֛וֹשׁ — קָד֛וֹשׁ holy קָד֖וֹשׁ — קָד֖וֹשׁ holy יְהוָ֣ה — יְהוָ֣ה YHWH צְבָא֑וֹת — צְבָא֑וֹת of–hosts מְלֹ֥א — מְלֹ֥א fullness–of כָל־ — כָל־ all– הָאָ֖רֶץ — הָאָ֖רֶץ the–earth כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃ — כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃ his–glory
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 וַיָּנֻ֙עוּ֙ — וַיָּנֻ֙עוּ֙ and–shook אַמּ֣וֹת — אַמּ֣וֹת foundations–of הַסִּפִּ֔ים — הַסִּפִּ֔ים the–thresholds מִקּ֖וֹל — מִקּ֖וֹל from–voice–of הַקּוֹרֵ֑א — הַקּוֹרֵ֑א the–one-calling וְהַבַּ֖יִת — וְהַבַּ֖יִת and–the–house יִמָּלֵ֥א — יִמָּלֵ֥א was-filled עָשָֽׁן׃ — עָשָֽׁן׃ smoke
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 וָאֹמַ֞ר — וָאֹמַ֞ר and–I-said אֽוֹי־ — אֽוֹי־ woe– לִ֣י — לִ֣י to–me כִֽי־ — כִֽי־ for– נִדְמֵ֗יתִי — נִדְמֵ֗יתִי I-am-ruined כִּ֣י — כִּ֣י for אִ֤ישׁ — אִ֤ישׁ man–of טְמֵֽא־ — טְמֵֽא־ unclean– שְׂפָתַ֙יִם֙ — שְׂפָתַ֙יִם֙ lips אָנֹ֔כִי — אָנֹ֔כִי I וּבְתוֹךְ֙ — וּבְתוֹךְ֙ and–in–midst–of עַם־ — עַם־ people–of– טְמֵ֣א — טְמֵ֣א unclean שְׂפָתַ֔יִם — שְׂפָתַ֔יִם lips אָנֹכִ֖י — אָנֹכִ֖י I יוֹשֵׁ֑ב — יוֹשֵׁ֑ב dwell כִּ֗י — כִּ֗י for אֶת־ — אֶת־ [obj]– הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ — הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the–king יְהוָ֥ה — יְהוָ֥ה YHWH צְבָא֖וֹת — צְבָא֖וֹת of–hosts רָא֥וּ — רָא֥וּ saw עֵינָֽי׃ — עֵינָֽי׃ my–eyes
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 וַיָּ֣עָף — וַיָּ֣עָף and–flew אֵלַ֗י — אֵלַ֗י to–me אֶחָד֙ — אֶחָד֙ one מִן־ — מִן־ from– הַשְּׂרָפִ֔ים — הַשְּׂרָפִ֔ים the–seraphim וּבְיָד֖וֹ — וּבְיָד֖וֹ and–in–his–hand רִצְפָּ֑ה — רִצְפָּ֑ה burning-coal בְּמֶ֨לְקַחַ֔יִם — בְּמֶ֨לְקַחַ֔יִם with–tongs לָקַ֖ח — לָקַ֖ח he-took מֵעַ֥ל — מֵעַ֥ל from–upon הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ — הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ the–altar
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 וַיַּגַּ֣ע — וַיַּגַּ֣ע and–he-touched עַל־ — עַל־ upon– פִּ֔י — פִּ֔י my–mouth וַיֹּ֕אמֶר — וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and–he-said הִנֵּ֛ה — הִנֵּ֛ה behold נָגַ֥ע — נָגַ֥ע has-touched זֶ֖ה — זֶ֖ה this עַל־ — עַל־ upon– שְׂפָתֶ֑יךָ — שְׂפָתֶ֑יךָ your–lips וְסָ֣ר — וְסָ֣ר and–turns-away עֲוֺנֶ֔ךָ — עֲוֺנֶ֔ךָ your–iniquity וְחַטָּאתְךָ֖ — וְחַטָּאתְךָ֖ and–your–sin תְּכֻפָּֽר׃ — תְּכֻפָּֽר׃ is-atoned
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע — וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע and–I-heard אֶת־ — אֶת־ [obj]– ק֤וֹל — ק֤וֹל voice–of אֲדֹנָי֙ — אֲדֹנָי֙ Adonai אֹמֵ֔ר — אֹמֵ֔ר saying אֶת־ — אֶת־ [obj]– מִ֥י — מִ֥י whom אֶשְׁלַ֖ח — אֶשְׁלַ֖ח shall-I-send וּמִ֣י — וּמִ֣י and–who יֵֽלֶךְ־ — יֵֽלֶךְ־ will-go– לָ֑נוּ — לָ֑נוּ for–us וָאֹמַ֖ר — וָאֹמַ֖ר and–I-said הִנְנִ֥י — הִנְנִ֥י here-am-I שְׁלָחֵֽנִי׃ — שְׁלָחֵֽנִי׃ send–me
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר — וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and–he-said לֵ֥ךְ — לֵ֥ךְ go וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ — וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ and–say לָעָ֣ם — לָעָ֣ם to–the–people הַזֶּ֑ה — הַזֶּ֑ה the–this שִׁמְע֤וּ — שִׁמְע֤וּ hear שָׁמ֙וֹעַ֙ — שָׁמ֙וֹעַ֙ hearing וְאַל־ — וְאַל־ and–not– תָּבִ֔ינוּ — תָּבִ֔ינוּ understand וּרְא֥וּ — וּרְא֥וּ and–see רָא֖וֹ — רָא֖וֹ seeing וְאַל־ — וְאַל־ and–not– תֵּדָֽעוּ׃ — תֵּדָֽעוּ׃ know
And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 הַשְׁמֵן֙ — הַשְׁמֵן֙ make-fat לֵב־ — לֵב־ heart–of– הָעָ֣ם — הָעָ֣ם the–people הַזֶּ֔ה — הַזֶּ֔ה the–this וְאָזְנָ֥יו — וְאָזְנָ֥יו and–its–ears הַכְבֵּ֖ד — הַכְבֵּ֖ד make-heavy וְעֵינָ֣יו — וְעֵינָ֣יו and–its–eyes הָשַׁ֑ע — הָשַׁ֑ע shut פֶּן־ — פֶּן־ lest– יִרְאֶ֨ה — יִרְאֶ֨ה it-see בְעֵינָ֜יו — בְעֵינָ֜יו with–its–eyes וּבְאָזְנָ֣יו — וּבְאָזְנָ֣יו and–with–its–ears יִשְׁמָ֗ע — יִשְׁמָ֗ע it-hear וּלְבָב֥וֹ — וּלְבָב֥וֹ and–its–heart יָבִ֛ין — יָבִ֛ין understand וָשָׁ֖ב — וָשָׁ֖ב and–it-return וְרָ֥פָא — וְרָ֥פָא and–be-healed לֽוֹ׃ — לֽוֹ׃ to–it
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11 וָאֹמַ֕ר — וָאֹמַ֕ר and–I-said עַד־ — עַד־ until– מָתַ֖י — מָתַ֖י when אֲדֹנָ֑י — אֲדֹנָ֑י Adonai וַיֹּ֡אמֶר — וַיֹּ֡אמֶר and–he-said עַ֣ד — עַ֣ד until אֲשֶׁר֩ — אֲשֶׁר֩ that אִם־ — אִם־ if– שָׁא֨וּ — שָׁא֨וּ are-laid-waste עָרִ֜ים — עָרִ֜ים cities מֵאֵ֣ין — מֵאֵ֣ין without יוֹשֵׁ֗ב — יוֹשֵׁ֗ב inhabitant וּבָתִּים֙ — וּבָתִּים֙ and–houses מֵאֵ֣ין — מֵאֵ֣ין without אָדָ֔ם — אָדָ֔ם man וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה — וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה and–the–ground תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה — תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה is-laid-waste שְׁמָמָֽה׃ — שְׁמָמָֽה׃ desolation
Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12 וְרִחַ֥ק — וְרִחַ֥ק and–puts-far-away יְהוָ֖ה — יְהוָ֖ה YHWH אֶת־ — אֶת־ [obj]– הָאָדָ֑ם — הָאָדָ֑ם the–man וְרַבָּ֥ה — וְרַבָּ֥ה and–great הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה — הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה the–forsaken-area בְּקֶ֥רֶב — בְּקֶ֥רֶב in–midst–of הָאָֽרֶץ׃ — הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the–land
And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13 וְע֥וֹד — וְע֥וֹד and–still בָּהּ֙ — בָּהּ֙ in–it עֲשִׂ֣רִיָּ֔ה — עֲשִׂ֣רִיָּ֔ה tenth וְשָׁ֖בָה — וְשָׁ֖בָה and–it-returns וְהָיְתָ֣ה — וְהָיְתָ֣ה and–it-will-be לְבָעֵ֑ר — לְבָעֵ֑ר for–burning כָּאֵלָ֣ה — כָּאֵלָ֣ה as–the–terebinth וְכָאַלּ֗וֹן — וְכָאַלּ֗וֹן and–as–the–oak אֲשֶׁ֤ר — אֲשֶׁ֤ר which בְּשַׁלֶּ֙כֶת֙ — בְּשַׁלֶּ֙כֶת֙ in–falling מַצֶּ֣בֶת — מַצֶּ֣בֶת stump בָּ֔ם — בָּ֔ם in–them זֶ֥רַע — זֶ֥רַע seed–of קֹ֖דֶשׁ — קֹ֖דֶשׁ holiness מַצַּבְתָּֽהּ׃ — מַצַּבְתָּֽהּ׃ its–stump פ — פ [paragraph]
But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
