Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 וְאַל־ — וְאַל־ and–do–not תָּב֣וֹא — תָּב֣וֹא enter בְ֭מִשְׁפָּט — בְ֭מִשְׁפָּט into–judgment אֶת־ — אֶת־ with עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ — עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ your–servant כִּ֤י — כִּ֤י for לֹֽא־ — לֹֽא־ not יִצְדַּ֖ק — יִצְדַּ֖ק is–righteous לְפָנֶ֣יךָ — לְפָנֶ֣יךָ before–you כָל־ — כָל־ any חָֽי׃ — חָֽי׃ living
And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 כִּ֥י — כִּ֥י for רָ֘דַ֤ף — רָ֘דַ֤ף has–pursued אוֹיֵ֨ב ׀ — אוֹיֵ֨ב ׀ the–enemy נַפְשִׁ֗י — נַפְשִׁ֗י my–soul דִּכָּ֣א — דִּכָּ֣א he–has–crushed לָ֭אָרֶץ — לָ֭אָרֶץ to–the–ground חַיָּתִ֑י — חַיָּתִ֑י my–life הוֹשִׁיבַ֥נִי — הוֹשִׁיבַ֥נִי he–made–me–dwell בְ֝מַחֲשַׁכִּ֗ים — בְ֝מַחֲשַׁכִּ֗ים in–darkness כְּמֵתֵ֥י — כְּמֵתֵ֥י like–dead-of עוֹלָֽם׃ — עוֹלָֽם׃ long-ago
For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 וַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ף — וַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ף and–grows–faint עָלַ֣י — עָלַ֣י upon–me רוּחִ֑י — רוּחִ֑י my–spirit בְּ֝תוֹכִ֗י — בְּ֝תוֹכִ֗י within–me יִשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם — יִשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם is–appalled לִבִּֽי׃ — לִבִּֽי׃ my–heart
Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי — זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי I–remember יָמִ֨ים ׀ — יָמִ֨ים ׀ days מִקֶּ֗דֶם — מִקֶּ֗דֶם of–old הָגִ֥יתִי — הָגִ֥יתִי I–meditate בְכָל־ — בְכָל־ on–all פָּעֳלֶ֑ךָ — פָּעֳלֶ֑ךָ your–work בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה — בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה on–deeds-of יָדֶ֣יךָ — יָדֶ֣יךָ your–hands אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃ — אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃ I–muse
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 פֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּי — פֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּי I–spread-out יָדַ֣י — יָדַ֣י my–hands אֵלֶ֑יךָ — אֵלֶ֑יךָ to–you נַפְשִׁ֓י ׀ — נַפְשִׁ֓י ׀ my–soul כְּאֶֽרֶץ־ — כְּאֶֽרֶץ־ like–land עֲיֵפָ֖ה — עֲיֵפָ֖ה weary לְךָ֣ — לְךָ֣ for–you סֶֽלָה׃ — סֶֽלָה׃ Selah
I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 מַ֘הֵ֤ר — מַ֘הֵ֤ר quickly עֲנֵ֨נִי ׀ — עֲנֵ֨נִי ׀ answer–me יְהוָה֮ — יְהוָה֮ YHWH כָּלְתָ֪ה — כָּלְתָ֪ה fails ר֫וּחִ֥י — ר֫וּחִ֥י my–spirit אַל־ — אַל־ do–not תַּסְתֵּ֣ר — תַּסְתֵּ֣ר hide פָּנֶ֣יךָ — פָּנֶ֣יךָ your–face מִמֶּ֑נִּי — מִמֶּ֑נִּי from–me וְ֝נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּי — וְ֝נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּי and–I–will–be–like עִם־ — עִם־ with יֹ֥רְדֵי — יֹ֥רְדֵי ones–going-down בֽוֹר׃ — בֽוֹר׃ the–pit
Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 הַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֤נִי — הַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֤נִי cause–me–to–hear בַבֹּ֨קֶר ׀ — בַבֹּ֨קֶר ׀ in–the–morning חַסְדֶּךָ֮ — חַסְדֶּךָ֮ your–steadfast-love כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for בְךָ֪ — בְךָ֪ in–you בָ֫טָ֥חְתִּי — בָ֫טָ֥חְתִּי I–trust הוֹדִיעֵ֗נִי — הוֹדִיעֵ֗נִי make–known–to–me דֶּֽרֶךְ־ — דֶּֽרֶךְ־ way ז֥וּ — ז֥וּ this אֵלֵ֑ךְ — אֵלֵ֑ךְ I–should–walk כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for אֵ֝לֶיךָ — אֵ֝לֶיךָ to–you נָשָׂ֥אתִי — נָשָׂ֥אתִי I–lift-up נַפְשִֽׁי׃ — נַפְשִֽׁי׃ my–soul
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9 הַצִּילֵ֖נִי — הַצִּילֵ֖נִי deliver–me מֵאֹיְבַ֥י ׀ — מֵאֹיְבַ֥י ׀ from–my–enemies יְהוָ֗ה — יְהוָ֗ה YHWH אֵלֶ֥יךָ — אֵלֶ֥יךָ to–you כִסִּֽתִי׃ — כִסִּֽתִי׃ I–hide
Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 לַמְּדֵ֤נִי ׀ — לַמְּדֵ֤נִי ׀ teach–me לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת — לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת to–do רְצוֹנֶךָ֮ — רְצוֹנֶךָ֮ your–will כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for אַתָּ֪ה — אַתָּ֪ה you אֱל֫וֹהָ֥י — אֱל֫וֹהָ֥י my–Eloah רוּחֲךָ֥ — רוּחֲךָ֥ your–spirit טוֹבָ֑ה — טוֹבָ֑ה good תַּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי — תַּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי lead–me בְּאֶ֣רֶץ — בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in–land-of מִישֽׁוֹר׃ — מִישֽׁוֹר׃ level-ground
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 לְמַֽעַן־ — לְמַֽעַן־ for–sake-of שִׁמְךָ֣ — שִׁמְךָ֣ your–name יְהוָ֣ה — יְהוָ֣ה YHWH תְּחַיֵּ֑נִי — תְּחַיֵּ֑נִי revive–me בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֓ ׀ — בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֓ ׀ in–your–righteousness תוֹצִ֖יא — תוֹצִ֖יא bring-out מִצָּרָ֣ה — מִצָּרָ֣ה from–distress נַפְשִֽׁי׃ — נַפְשִֽׁי׃ my–soul
Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ֮ — וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ֮ and–in–your–steadfast-love תַּצְמִ֪ית — תַּצְמִ֪ית cut-off אֹ֫יְבָ֥י — אֹ֫יְבָ֥י my–enemies וְֽ֭הַאֲבַדְתָּ — וְֽ֭הַאֲבַדְתָּ and–destroy כָּל־ — כָּל־ all צֹרֲרֵ֣י — צֹרֲרֵ֣י adversaries-of נַפְשִׁ֑י — נַפְשִׁ֑י my–soul כִּ֝֗י — כִּ֝֗י for אֲנִ֣י — אֲנִ֣י I עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ — עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ your–servant
And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
