O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
2 נָֽתְנ֡וּ — נָֽתְנ֡וּ they–have–given אֶת־ — אֶת־ – נִבְלַ֬ת — נִבְלַ֬ת the–bodies–of עֲבָדֶ֗יךָ — עֲבָדֶ֗יךָ Your–servants מַ֭אֲכָל — מַ֭אֲכָל as–food לְע֣וֹף — לְע֣וֹף to–the–birds–of הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם — הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם the–heavens בְּשַׂ֥ר — בְּשַׂ֥ר the–flesh–of חֲ֝סִידֶ֗יךָ — חֲ֝סִידֶ֗יךָ Your–faithful–ones לְחַיְתוֹ־ — לְחַיְתוֹ־ to–the–beasts–of– אָֽרֶץ׃ — אָֽרֶץ׃ the–earth
The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
3 שָׁפְכ֬וּ — שָׁפְכ֬וּ they–have–poured–out דָמָ֨ם ׀ — דָמָ֨ם ׀ their–blood כַּמַּ֗יִם — כַּמַּ֗יִם like–water סְֽבִ֘יב֤וֹת — סְֽבִ֘יב֤וֹת all–around יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם — יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם Jerusalem וְאֵ֣ין — וְאֵ֣ין and–there–was–no–one קוֹבֵֽר׃ — קוֹבֵֽר׃ to–bury
Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
4 הָיִ֣ינוּ — הָיִ֣ינוּ we–have–become חֶ֭רְפָּה — חֶ֭רְפָּה a–reproach לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ — לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ to–our–neighbors לַ֥עַג — לַ֥עַג a–scorn וָ֝קֶ֗לֶס — וָ֝קֶ֗לֶס and–derision לִסְבִיבוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ — לִסְבִיבוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ to–those–around–us
We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
5 עַד־ — עַד־ how– מָ֣ה — מָ֣ה long יְ֭הוָה — יְ֭הוָה YHWH תֶּאֱנַ֣ף — תֶּאֱנַ֣ף will–You–be–angry לָנֶ֑צַח — לָנֶ֑צַח forever תִּבְעַ֥ר — תִּבְעַ֥ר will–burn כְּמוֹ־ — כְּמוֹ־ like– אֵ֝֗שׁ — אֵ֝֗שׁ fire קִנְאָתֶֽךָ׃ — קִנְאָתֶֽךָ׃ Your–jealousy
How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
6 שְׁפֹ֤ךְ — שְׁפֹ֤ךְ pour–out חֲמָתְךָ֨ — חֲמָתְךָ֨ Your–wrath אֶֽל־ — אֶֽל־ on– הַגּוֹיִם֮ — הַגּוֹיִם֮ the–nations אֲשֶׁ֪ר — אֲשֶׁ֪ר that לֹא־ — לֹא־ not– יְדָ֫ע֥וּךָ — יְדָ֫ע֥וּךָ know–You וְעַ֥ל — וְעַ֥ל and–on מַמְלָכ֑וֹת — מַמְלָכ֑וֹת the–kingdoms אֲשֶׁ֥ר — אֲשֶׁ֥ר that בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ֗ — בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ֗ on–Your–name לֹ֣א — לֹ֣א not קָרָֽאוּ׃ — קָרָֽאוּ׃ call
Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
7 כִּ֭י — כִּ֭י for אָכַ֣ל — אָכַ֣ל they–have–devoured אֶֽת־ — אֶֽת־ – יַעֲקֹ֑ב — יַעֲקֹ֑ב Jacob וְֽאֶת־ — וְֽאֶת־ and– נָוֵ֥הוּ — נָוֵ֥הוּ his–habitation הֵשַֽׁמּוּ׃ — הֵשַֽׁמּוּ׃ they–have–laid–waste
For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
8 אַֽל־ — אַֽל־ do–not– תִּזְכָּר־ — תִּזְכָּר־ remember– לָנוּ֮ — לָנוּ֮ against–us עֲוֺנֹ֪ת — עֲוֺנֹ֪ת iniquities רִאשֹׁ֫נִ֥ים — רִאשֹׁ֫נִ֥ים former מַ֭הֵר — מַ֭הֵר speedily יְקַדְּמ֣וּנוּ — יְקַדְּמ֣וּנוּ let–meet–us רַחֲמֶ֑יךָ — רַחֲמֶ֑יךָ Your–compassion כִּ֖י — כִּ֖י for דַלּ֣וֹנוּ — דַלּ֣וֹנוּ we–have–been–brought–very–low מְאֹֽד׃ — מְאֹֽד׃ very
O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
9 עָזְרֵ֤נוּ ׀ — עָזְרֵ֤נוּ ׀ help–us אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י — אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י Elohim–of יִשְׁעֵ֗נוּ — יִשְׁעֵ֗נוּ our–salvation עַל־ — עַל־ for– דְּבַ֥ר — דְּבַ֥ר the–sake–of כְּבֽוֹד־ — כְּבֽוֹד־ the–glory–of– שְׁמֶ֑ךָ — שְׁמֶ֑ךָ Your–name וְהַצִּילֵ֥נוּ — וְהַצִּילֵ֥נוּ and–deliver–us וְכַפֵּ֥ר — וְכַפֵּ֥ר and–atone עַל־ — עַל־ for– חַ֝טֹּאתֵ֗ינוּ — חַ֝טֹּאתֵ֗ינוּ our–sins לְמַ֣עַן — לְמַ֣עַן for–the–sake–of שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ — שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ Your–name
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.
10 לָ֤מָּה ׀ — לָ֤מָּה ׀ why יֹאמְר֣וּ — יֹאמְר֣וּ should–say הַגּוֹיִם֮ — הַגּוֹיִם֮ the–nations אַיֵּ֪ה — אַיֵּ֪ה where אֱֽלֹהֵ֫יהֶ֥ם — אֱֽלֹהֵ֫יהֶ֥ם is–their–Elohim יִוָּדַ֣ע — יִוָּדַ֣ע let–be–known [בגיים] — [בגיים] [ketiv:among–the–nations] (בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם) — (בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם) among–the–nations לְעֵינֵ֑ינוּ — לְעֵינֵ֑ינוּ before–our–eyes נִ֝קְמַ֗ת — נִ֝קְמַ֗ת the–vengeance–of דַּֽם־ — דַּֽם־ the–blood–of– עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ — עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ Your–servants הַשָּׁפֽוּךְ׃ — הַשָּׁפֽוּךְ׃ that–was–poured–out
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
11 תָּ֤ב֣וֹא — תָּ֤ב֣וֹא let–come לְפָנֶיךָ֮ — לְפָנֶיךָ֮ before–You אֶנְקַ֪ת — אֶנְקַ֪ת the–groaning–of אָ֫סִ֥יר — אָ֫סִ֥יר the–prisoner כְּגֹ֥דֶל — כְּגֹ֥דֶל according–to–the–greatness–of זְרוֹעֲךָ֑ — זְרוֹעֲךָ֑ Your–arm ה֝וֹתֵ֗ר — ה֝וֹתֵ֗ר preserve בְּנֵ֣י — בְּנֵ֣י the–sons–of תְמוּתָֽה׃ — תְמוּתָֽה׃ death
Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;
12 וְהָ֘שֵׁ֤ב — וְהָ֘שֵׁ֤ב and–return לִשְׁכֵנֵ֣ינוּ — לִשְׁכֵנֵ֣ינוּ to–our–neighbors שִׁ֭בְעָתַיִם — שִׁ֭בְעָתַיִם sevenfold אֶל־ — אֶל־ into– חֵיקָ֑ם — חֵיקָ֑ם their–bosom חֶרְפָּ֘תָ֤ם — חֶרְפָּ֘תָ֤ם their–reproach אֲשֶׁ֖ר — אֲשֶׁ֖ר with–which חֵרְפ֣וּךָ — חֵרְפ֣וּךָ they–have–reproached–You אֲדֹנָֽי׃ — אֲדֹנָֽי׃ Adonai
And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
13 וַאֲנַ֤חְנוּ — וַאֲנַ֤חְנוּ and–we עַמְּךָ֨ ׀ — עַמְּךָ֨ ׀ Your–people וְצֹ֥אן — וְצֹ֥אן and–the–sheep–of מַרְעִיתֶךָ֮ — מַרְעִיתֶךָ֮ Your–pasture נ֤וֹדֶ֥ה — נ֤וֹדֶ֥ה will–give–thanks לְּךָ֗ — לְּךָ֗ to–You לְע֫וֹלָ֥ם — לְע֫וֹלָ֥ם forever לְדֹ֥ר — לְדֹ֥ר to–generation וָדֹ֑ר — וָדֹ֑ר after–generation נְ֝סַפֵּ֗ר — נְ֝סַפֵּ֗ר we–will–recount תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ — תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ Your–praise
So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
