Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
2 כִּ֭י — כִּ֭י when אֶקַּ֣ח — אֶקַּ֣ח I–appoint מוֹעֵ֑ד — מוֹעֵ֑ד the–appointed–time אֲ֝נִ֗י — אֲ֝נִ֗י I מֵישָׁרִ֥ים — מֵישָׁרִ֥ים with–equity אֶשְׁפֹּֽט׃ — אֶשְׁפֹּֽט׃ will–judge
When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
3 נְֽמֹגִ֗ים — נְֽמֹגִ֗ים are–dissolving אֶ֥רֶץ — אֶ֥רֶץ the–earth וְכָל־ — וְכָל־ and–all– יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ — יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ its–inhabitants אָנֹכִ֨י — אָנֹכִ֨י I תִכַּ֖נְתִּי — תִכַּ֖נְתִּי have–set–firm עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ — עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ its–pillars סֶּֽלָה׃ — סֶּֽלָה׃ Selah
The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
4 אָמַ֣רְתִּי — אָמַ֣רְתִּי I–said לַֽ֭הוֹלְלִים — לַֽ֭הוֹלְלִים to–the–boastful אַל־ — אַל־ do–not– תָּהֹ֑לּוּ — תָּהֹ֑לּוּ boast וְ֝לָרְשָׁעִ֗ים — וְ֝לָרְשָׁעִ֗ים and–to–the–wicked אַל־ — אַל־ do–not– תָּרִ֥ימוּ — תָּרִ֥ימוּ lift–up קָֽרֶן׃ — קָֽרֶן׃ a–horn
I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
5 אַל־ — אַל־ do–not– תָּרִ֣ימוּ — תָּרִ֣ימוּ lift–up לַמָּר֣וֹם — לַמָּר֣וֹם on–high קַרְנְכֶ֑ם — קַרְנְכֶ֑ם your–horn תְּדַבְּר֖וּ — תְּדַבְּר֖וּ do–not–speak בְצַוָּ֣אר — בְצַוָּ֣אר with–a–neck עָתָֽק׃ — עָתָֽק׃ insolent
Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6 כִּ֤י — כִּ֤י for לֹ֣א — לֹ֣א not מִ֭מּוֹצָא — מִ֭מּוֹצָא from–the–east וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב — וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב and–from–the–west וְ֝לֹ֗א — וְ֝לֹ֗א and–not מִמִּדְבַּ֥ר — מִמִּדְבַּ֥ר from–the–wilderness הָרִֽים׃ — הָרִֽים׃ of–mountains
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for– אֱלֹהִ֥ים — אֱלֹהִ֥ים Elohim שֹׁפֵ֑ט — שֹׁפֵ֑ט is–judge זֶ֥ה — זֶ֥ה this–one יַ֝שְׁפִּ֗יל — יַ֝שְׁפִּ֗יל He–brings–low וְזֶ֣ה — וְזֶ֣ה and–this–one יָרִֽים׃ — יָרִֽים׃ He–lifts–up
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
8 כִּ֤י — כִּ֤י for כ֪וֹס — כ֪וֹס a–cup בְּֽיַד־ — בְּֽיַד־ is–in–the–hand–of– יְהוָ֡ה — יְהוָ֡ה YHWH וְיַ֤יִן — וְיַ֤יִן and–wine חָמַ֨ר ׀ — חָמַ֨ר ׀ foaming מָ֥לֵא — מָ֥לֵא full–of מֶסֶךְ֮ — מֶסֶךְ֮ mixture וַיַּגֵּ֪ר — וַיַּגֵּ֪ר and–He–pours–out מִ֫זֶּ֥ה — מִ֫זֶּ֥ה from–this אַךְ־ — אַךְ־ surely– שְׁ֭מָרֶיהָ — שְׁ֭מָרֶיהָ its–dregs יִמְצ֣וּ — יִמְצ֣וּ they–drain יִשְׁתּ֑וּ — יִשְׁתּ֑וּ they–drink כֹּ֝֗ל — כֹּ֝֗ל all– רִשְׁעֵי־ — רִשְׁעֵי־ the–wicked–of– אָֽרֶץ׃ — אָֽרֶץ׃ the–earth
For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
9 וַ֭אֲנִי — וַ֭אֲנִי but–I אַגִּ֣יד — אַגִּ֣יד will–declare לְעֹלָ֑ם — לְעֹלָ֑ם forever אֲ֝זַמְּרָ֗ה — אֲ֝זַמְּרָ֗ה I–will–sing–praises לֵאלֹהֵ֥י — לֵאלֹהֵ֥י to–the–Elohim–of יַעֲקֹֽב׃ — יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Jacob
But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 וְכָל־ — וְכָל־ and–all– קַרְנֵ֣י — קַרְנֵ֣י the–horns–of רְשָׁעִ֣ים — רְשָׁעִ֣ים the–wicked אֲגַדֵּ֑עַ — אֲגַדֵּ֑עַ I–will–cut–off תְּ֝רוֹמַ֗מְנָה — תְּ֝רוֹמַ֗מְנָה will–be–lifted–up קַֽרְנ֥וֹת — קַֽרְנ֥וֹת the–horns–of צַדִּֽיק׃ — צַדִּֽיק׃ the–righteous
All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
