The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 יְֽהוָ֗ה — יְֽהוָ֗ה YHWH מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ — מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ from–heaven הִשְׁקִ֪יף — הִשְׁקִ֪יף looks–down עַֽל־ — עַֽל־ upon– בְּנֵי־ — בְּנֵי־ the–sons–of– אָ֫דָ֥ם — אָ֫דָ֥ם man לִ֭רְאוֹת — לִ֭רְאוֹת to–see הֲיֵ֣שׁ — הֲיֵ֣שׁ if–there–is מַשְׂכִּ֑יל — מַשְׂכִּ֑יל one–who–understands דֹּ֝רֵשׁ — דֹּ֝רֵשׁ one–seeking אֶת־ — אֶת־ – אֱלֹהִֽים׃ — אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Elohim
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 הַכֹּ֥ל — הַכֹּ֥ל the–all סָר֮ — סָר֮ have–turned–aside יַחְדָּ֪ו — יַחְדָּ֪ו together נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ — נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ they–have–become–corrupt אֵ֤ין — אֵ֤ין there–is–none עֹֽשֵׂה־ — עֹֽשֵׂה־ doing– ט֑וֹב — ט֑וֹב good אֵ֝֗ין — אֵ֝֗ין there–is–none גַּם־ — גַּם־ even– אֶחָֽד׃ — אֶחָֽד׃ one
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 הֲלֹ֥א — הֲלֹ֥א do–not יָדְעוּ֮ — יָדְעוּ֮ know כָּל־ — כָּל־ all– פֹּ֪עֲלֵ֫י — פֹּ֪עֲלֵ֫י workers–of אָ֥וֶן — אָ֥וֶן iniquity אֹכְלֵ֣י — אֹכְלֵ֣י eating עַ֭מִּי — עַ֭מִּי my–people אָ֣כְלוּ — אָ֣כְלוּ they–eat לֶ֑חֶם — לֶ֑חֶם bread יְ֝הוָ֗ה — יְ֝הוָ֗ה YHWH לֹ֣א — לֹ֣א not קָרָֽאוּ׃ — קָרָֽאוּ׃ they–call
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.
5 שָׁ֤ם ׀ — שָׁ֤ם ׀ there פָּ֣חֲדוּ — פָּ֣חֲדוּ they–were–in–great–dread פָ֑חַד — פָ֑חַד dread כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for– אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים — אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים Elohim בְּד֣וֹר — בְּד֣וֹר is–with–the–generation–of צַדִּֽיק׃ — צַדִּֽיק׃ the–righteous
There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 עֲצַת־ — עֲצַת־ the–counsel–of– עָנִ֥י — עָנִ֥י the–poor תָבִ֑ישׁוּ — תָבִ֑ישׁוּ you–would–shame כִּ֖י — כִּ֖י but יְהוָ֣ה — יְהוָ֣ה YHWH מַחְסֵֽהוּ׃ — מַחְסֵֽהוּ׃ is–his–refuge
Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.
7 מִ֥י — מִ֥י who יִתֵּ֣ן — יִתֵּ֣ן will–give מִצִּיּוֹן֮ — מִצִּיּוֹן֮ from–Zion יְשׁוּעַ֪ת — יְשׁוּעַ֪ת the–salvation–of יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל — יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל Israel בְּשׁ֣וּב — בְּשׁ֣וּב when–restores יְ֭הוָה — יְ֭הוָה YHWH שְׁב֣וּת — שְׁב֣וּת the–fortunes–of עַמּ֑וֹ — עַמּ֑וֹ his–people יָגֵ֥ל — יָגֵ֥ל let–rejoice יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב — יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב Jacob יִשְׂמַ֥ח — יִשְׂמַ֥ח let–be–glad יִשְׂרָֽאֵל׃ — יִשְׂרָֽאֵל׃ Israel
Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
