And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth–el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר — וַיֹּ֤אמֶר and–said יַעֲקֹב֙ — יַעֲקֹב֙ Jacob אֶל־ — אֶל־ to– בֵּית֔וֹ — בֵּית֔וֹ his–household וְאֶ֖ל — וְאֶ֖ל and–to כָּל־ — כָּל־ all– אֲשֶׁ֣ר — אֲשֶׁ֣ר who עִמּ֑וֹ — עִמּ֑וֹ with–him הָסִ֜רוּ — הָסִ֜רוּ put–away אֶת־ — אֶת־ – אֱלֹהֵ֤י — אֱלֹהֵ֤י gods–of הַנֵּכָר֙ — הַנֵּכָר֙ the–foreign אֲשֶׁ֣ר — אֲשֶׁ֣ר which בְּתֹכְכֶ֔ם — בְּתֹכְכֶ֔ם in–your–midst וְהִֽטַּהֲר֔וּ — וְהִֽטַּהֲר֔וּ and–purify–yourselves וְהַחֲלִ֖יפוּ — וְהַחֲלִ֖יפוּ and–change שִׂמְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ — שִׂמְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ your–garments
Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3 וְנָק֥וּמָה — וְנָק֥וּמָה and–let–us–arise וְנַעֲלֶ֖ה — וְנַעֲלֶ֖ה and–let–us–go–up בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל — בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל Bethel וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ — וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ and–I–will–make– שָּׁ֣ם — שָּׁ֣ם there מִזְבֵּ֗חַ — מִזְבֵּ֗חַ altar לָאֵ֞ל — לָאֵ֞ל to–the–El הָעֹנֶ֤ה — הָעֹנֶ֤ה the–answering אֹתִי֙ — אֹתִי֙ –me בְּי֣וֹם — בְּי֣וֹם in–day–of צָֽרָתִ֔י — צָֽרָתִ֔י my–distress וַיְהִי֙ — וַיְהִי֙ and–he–was עִמָּדִ֔י — עִמָּדִ֔י with–me בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ — בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ in–the–way אֲשֶׁ֥ר — אֲשֶׁ֥ר which הָלָֽכְתִּי׃ — הָלָֽכְתִּי׃ I–went
And let us arise, and go up to Beth–el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4 וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ — וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ and–they–gave אֶֽל־ — אֶֽל־ to– יַעֲקֹ֗ב — יַעֲקֹ֗ב Jacob אֵ֣ת — אֵ֣ת – כָּל־ — כָּל־ all– אֱלֹהֵ֤י — אֱלֹהֵ֤י gods–of הַנֵּכָר֙ — הַנֵּכָר֙ the–foreign אֲשֶׁ֣ר — אֲשֶׁ֣ר which בְּיָדָ֔ם — בְּיָדָ֔ם in–their–hand וְאֶת־ — וְאֶת־ and– הַנְּזָמִ֖ים — הַנְּזָמִ֖ים the–rings אֲשֶׁ֣ר — אֲשֶׁ֣ר which בְּאָזְנֵיהֶ֑ם — בְּאָזְנֵיהֶ֑ם in–their–ears וַיִּטְמֹ֤ן — וַיִּטְמֹ֤ן and–buried אֹתָם֙ — אֹתָם֙ –them יַעֲקֹ֔ב — יַעֲקֹ֔ב Jacob תַּ֥חַת — תַּ֥חַת under הָאֵלָ֖ה — הָאֵלָ֖ה the–terebinth אֲשֶׁ֥ר — אֲשֶׁ֥ר which עִם־ — עִם־ with– שְׁכֶֽם׃ — שְׁכֶֽם׃ Shechem
And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5 וַיִּסָּ֑עוּ — וַיִּסָּ֑עוּ and–they–journeyed וַיְהִ֣י ׀ — וַיְהִ֣י ׀ and–was חִתַּ֣ת — חִתַּ֣ת terror–of אֱלֹהִ֗ים — אֱלֹהִ֗ים Elohim עַל־ — עַל־ upon– הֶֽעָרִים֙ — הֶֽעָרִים֙ the–cities אֲשֶׁר֙ — אֲשֶׁר֙ which סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם — סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם around–them וְלֹ֣א — וְלֹ֣א and–not רָֽדְפ֔וּ — רָֽדְפ֔וּ they–pursued אַחֲרֵ֖י — אַחֲרֵ֖י after בְּנֵ֥י — בְּנֵ֥י sons–of יַעֲקֹֽב׃ — יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Jacob
And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6 וַיָּבֹ֨א — וַיָּבֹ֨א and–came יַעֲקֹ֜ב — יַעֲקֹ֜ב Jacob ל֗וּזָה — ל֗וּזָה Luz–ward אֲשֶׁר֙ — אֲשֶׁר֙ which בְּאֶ֣רֶץ — בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in–land–of כְּנַ֔עַן — כְּנַ֔עַן Canaan הִ֖וא — הִ֖וא it בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל — בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל Bethel ה֖וּא — ה֖וּא he וְכָל־ — וְכָל־ and–all– הָעָ֥ם — הָעָ֥ם the–people אֲשֶׁר־ — אֲשֶׁר־ who– עִמּֽוֹ׃ — עִמּֽוֹ׃ with–him
So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Beth–el, he and all the people that were with him.
7 וַיִּ֤בֶן — וַיִּ֤בֶן and–he–built שָׁם֙ — שָׁם֙ there מִזְבֵּ֔חַ — מִזְבֵּ֔חַ altar וַיִּקְרָא֙ — וַיִּקְרָא֙ and–he–called לַמָּק֔וֹם — לַמָּק֔וֹם to–the–place אֵ֖ל — אֵ֖ל El בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל — בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל Bethel כִּ֣י — כִּ֣י for שָׁ֗ם — שָׁ֗ם there נִגְל֤וּ — נִגְל֤וּ were–revealed אֵלָיו֙ — אֵלָיו֙ to–him הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים — הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים the–Elohim בְּבָרְח֖וֹ — בְּבָרְח֖וֹ when–he–fled מִפְּנֵ֥י — מִפְּנֵ֥י from–before אָחִֽיו׃ — אָחִֽיו׃ his–brother
And he built there an altar, and called the place El–beth–el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8 וַתָּ֤מָת — וַתָּ֤מָת and–died דְּבֹרָה֙ — דְּבֹרָה֙ Deborah מֵינֶ֣קֶת — מֵינֶ֣קֶת nurse–of רִבְקָ֔ה — רִבְקָ֔ה Rebekah וַתִּקָּבֵ֛ר — וַתִּקָּבֵ֛ר and–she–was–buried מִתַּ֥חַת — מִתַּ֥חַת below לְבֵֽית־אֵ֖ל — לְבֵֽית־אֵ֖ל to–Bethel תַּ֣חַת — תַּ֣חַת under הָֽאַלּ֑וֹן — הָֽאַלּ֑וֹן the–oak וַיִּקְרָ֥א — וַיִּקְרָ֥א and–he–called שְׁמ֖וֹ — שְׁמ֖וֹ its–name אַלּ֥וֹן בָּכֽוּת׃ — אַלּ֥וֹן בָּכֽוּת׃ Allon–Bacuth פ — פ –
But Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth–el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon–bachuth.
9 וַיֵּרָ֨א — וַיֵּרָ֨א and–appeared אֱלֹהִ֤ים — אֱלֹהִ֤ים Elohim אֶֽל־ — אֶֽל־ to– יַעֲקֹב֙ — יַעֲקֹב֙ Jacob ע֔וֹד — ע֔וֹד again בְּבֹא֖וֹ — בְּבֹא֖וֹ when–he–came מִפַּדַּ֣ן אֲרָ֑ם — מִפַּדַּ֣ן אֲרָ֑ם from–Paddan–Aram וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ — וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ and–he–blessed אֹתֽוֹ׃ — אֹתֽוֹ׃ –him
And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan–aram, and blessed him.
10 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ — וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ and–said– ל֥וֹ — ל֥וֹ to–him אֱלֹהִ֖ים — אֱלֹהִ֖ים Elohim שִׁמְךָ֣ — שִׁמְךָ֣ your–name יַעֲקֹ֑ב — יַעֲקֹ֑ב Jacob לֹֽא־ — לֹֽא־ not– יִקָּרֵא֩ — יִקָּרֵא֩ shall–be–called שִׁמְךָ֨ — שִׁמְךָ֨ your–name ע֜וֹד — ע֜וֹד anymore יַעֲקֹ֗ב — יַעֲקֹ֗ב Jacob כִּ֤י — כִּ֤י but אִם־ — אִם־ if– יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ — יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Israel יִהְיֶ֣ה — יִהְיֶ֣ה shall–be שְׁמֶ֔ךָ — שְׁמֶ֔ךָ your–name וַיִּקְרָ֥א — וַיִּקְרָ֥א and–he–called אֶת־ — אֶת־ – שְׁמ֖וֹ — שְׁמ֖וֹ his–name יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ — יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel
And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ — וַיֹּאמֶר֩ and–said ל֨וֹ — ל֨וֹ to–him אֱלֹהִ֜ים — אֱלֹהִ֜ים Elohim אֲנִ֨י — אֲנִ֨י I אֵ֤ל — אֵ֤ל El שַׁדַּי֙ — שַׁדַּי֙ Shaddai פְּרֵ֣ה — פְּרֵ֣ה be–fruitful וּרְבֵ֔ה — וּרְבֵ֔ה and–multiply גּ֛וֹי — גּ֛וֹי nation וּקְהַ֥ל — וּקְהַ֥ל and–assembly–of גּוֹיִ֖ם — גּוֹיִ֖ם nations יִהְיֶ֣ה — יִהְיֶ֣ה shall–be מִמֶּ֑ךָּ — מִמֶּ֑ךָּ from–you וּמְלָכִ֖ים — וּמְלָכִ֖ים and–kings מֵחֲלָצֶ֥יךָ — מֵחֲלָצֶ֥יךָ from–your–loins יֵצֵֽאוּ׃ — יֵצֵֽאוּ׃ shall–go–out
And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12 וְאֶת־ — וְאֶת־ and– הָאָ֗רֶץ — הָאָ֗רֶץ the–land אֲשֶׁ֥ר — אֲשֶׁ֥ר which נָתַ֛תִּי — נָתַ֛תִּי I–gave לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם — לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם to–Abraham וּלְיִצְחָ֖ק — וּלְיִצְחָ֖ק and–to–Isaac לְךָ֣ — לְךָ֣ to–you אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה — אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה I–will–give–it וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֥ — וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֥ and–to–your–seed אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ — אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ after–you אֶתֵּ֥ן — אֶתֵּ֥ן I–will–give אֶת־ — אֶת־ – הָאָֽרֶץ׃ — הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the–land
And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13 וַיַּ֥עַל — וַיַּ֥עַל and–went–up מֵעָלָ֖יו — מֵעָלָ֖יו from–upon–him אֱלֹהִ֑ים — אֱלֹהִ֑ים Elohim בַּמָּק֖וֹם — בַּמָּק֖וֹם in–the–place אֲשֶׁר־ — אֲשֶׁר־ where– דִּבֶּ֥ר — דִּבֶּ֥ר he–spoke אִתּֽוֹ׃ — אִתּֽוֹ׃ with–him
And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14 וַיַּצֵּ֨ב — וַיַּצֵּ֨ב and–set–up יַעֲקֹ֜ב — יַעֲקֹ֜ב Jacob מַצֵּבָ֗ה — מַצֵּבָ֗ה pillar בַּמָּק֛וֹם — בַּמָּק֛וֹם in–the–place אֲשֶׁר־ — אֲשֶׁר־ where– דִּבֶּ֥ר — דִּבֶּ֥ר he–spoke אִתּ֖וֹ — אִתּ֖וֹ with–him מַצֶּ֣בֶת — מַצֶּ֣בֶת pillar–of אָ֑בֶן — אָ֑בֶן stone וַיַּסֵּ֤ךְ — וַיַּסֵּ֤ךְ and–he–poured עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ — עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ upon–it נֶ֔סֶךְ — נֶ֔סֶךְ drink–offering וַיִּצֹ֥ק — וַיִּצֹ֥ק and–he–poured עָלֶ֖יהָ — עָלֶ֖יהָ upon–it שָֽׁמֶן׃ — שָֽׁמֶן׃ oil
And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15 וַיִּקְרָ֨א — וַיִּקְרָ֨א and–called יַעֲקֹ֜ב — יַעֲקֹ֜ב Jacob אֶת־ — אֶת־ – שֵׁ֣ם — שֵׁ֣ם name–of הַמָּק֗וֹם — הַמָּק֗וֹם the–place אֲשֶׁר֩ — אֲשֶׁר֩ where דִּבֶּ֨ר — דִּבֶּ֨ר spoke אִתּ֥וֹ — אִתּ֥וֹ with–him שָׁ֛ם — שָׁ֛ם there אֱלֹהִ֖ים — אֱלֹהִ֖ים Elohim בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃ — בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃ Bethel
And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth–el.
16 וַיִּסְעוּ֙ — וַיִּסְעוּ֙ and–they–journeyed מִבֵּ֣ית אֵ֔ל — מִבֵּ֣ית אֵ֔ל from–Bethel וַֽיְהִי־ — וַֽיְהִי־ and–it–was– ע֥וֹד — ע֥וֹד still כִּבְרַת־ — כִּבְרַת־ stretch–of– הָאָ֖רֶץ — הָאָ֖רֶץ the–land לָב֣וֹא — לָב֣וֹא to–come אֶפְרָ֑תָה — אֶפְרָ֑תָה Ephrath–ward וַתֵּ֥לֶד — וַתֵּ֥לֶד and–gave–birth רָחֵ֖ל — רָחֵ֖ל Rachel וַתְּקַ֥שׁ — וַתְּקַ֥שׁ and–she–had–difficulty בְּלִדְתָּֽהּ׃ — בְּלִדְתָּֽהּ׃ in–her–giving–birth
And they journeyed from Beth–el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17 וַיְהִ֥י — וַיְהִ֥י and–it–was בְהַקְשֹׁתָ֖הּ — בְהַקְשֹׁתָ֖הּ when–she–had–difficulty בְּלִדְתָּ֑הּ — בְּלִדְתָּ֑הּ in–her–giving–birth וַתֹּ֨אמֶר — וַתֹּ֨אמֶר and–said לָ֤הּ — לָ֤הּ to–her הַמְיַלֶּ֙דֶת֙ — הַמְיַלֶּ֙דֶת֙ the–midwife אַל־ — אַל־ not– תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י — תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י fear כִּֽי־ — כִּֽי־ for– גַם־ — גַם־ also– זֶ֥ה — זֶ֥ה this לָ֖ךְ — לָ֖ךְ to–you בֵּֽן׃ — בֵּֽן׃ son
And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18 וַיְהִ֞י — וַיְהִ֞י and–it–was בְּצֵ֤את — בְּצֵ֤את as–departed נַפְשָׁהּ֙ — נַפְשָׁהּ֙ her–soul כִּ֣י — כִּ֣י for מֵ֔תָה — מֵ֔תָה she–died וַתִּקְרָ֥א — וַתִּקְרָ֥א and–she–called שְׁמ֖וֹ — שְׁמ֖וֹ his–name בֶּן־אוֹנִ֑י — בֶּן־אוֹנִ֑י Ben–Oni וְאָבִ֖יו — וְאָבִ֖יו and–his–father קָֽרָא־ — קָֽרָא־ called– ל֥וֹ — ל֥וֹ him בִנְיָמִֽין׃ — בִנְיָמִֽין׃ Benjamin
And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben–oni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19 וַתָּ֖מָת — וַתָּ֖מָת and–died רָחֵ֑ל — רָחֵ֑ל Rachel וַתִּקָּבֵר֙ — וַתִּקָּבֵר֙ and–she–was–buried בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ — בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ on–way–of אֶפְרָ֔תָה — אֶפְרָ֔תָה Ephrath הִ֖וא — הִ֖וא it בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃ — בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃ Bethlehem
And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth–lehem.
20 וַיַּצֵּ֧ב — וַיַּצֵּ֧ב and–set–up יַעֲקֹ֛ב — יַעֲקֹ֛ב Jacob מַצֵּבָ֖ה — מַצֵּבָ֖ה pillar עַל־ — עַל־ over– קְבֻרָתָ֑הּ — קְבֻרָתָ֑הּ her–grave הִ֛וא — הִ֛וא it מַצֶּ֥בֶת — מַצֶּ֥בֶת pillar–of קְבֻֽרַת־ — קְבֻֽרַת־ grave–of– רָחֵ֖ל — רָחֵ֖ל Rachel עַד־ — עַד־ until– הַיּֽוֹם׃ — הַיּֽוֹם׃ the–day
And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.
21 וַיִּסַּ֖ע — וַיִּסַּ֖ע and–journeyed יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל — יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel וַיֵּ֣ט — וַיֵּ֣ט and–he–pitched אָֽהֳלֹ֔ה — אָֽהֳלֹ֔ה his–tent מֵהָ֖לְאָה — מֵהָ֖לְאָה beyond לְמִגְדַּל־עֵֽדֶר׃ — לְמִגְדַּל־עֵֽדֶר׃ Migdal–Eder
And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22 וַיְהִ֗י — וַיְהִ֗י and–it–was בִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן — בִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן when–dwelt יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ — יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Israel בָּאָ֣רֶץ — בָּאָ֣רֶץ in–the–land הַהִ֔וא — הַהִ֔וא the–that וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ — וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ and–went רְאוּבֵ֔ן — רְאוּבֵ֔ן Reuben וַיִּשְׁכַּ֕ב֙ — וַיִּשְׁכַּ֕ב֙ and–he–lay–with אֶת־ — אֶת־ – בִּלְהָ֖ה֙ — בִּלְהָ֖ה֙ Bilhah פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ — פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ concubine–of אָבִ֑֔יו — אָבִ֑֔יו his–father וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע — וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע and–heard יִשְׂרָאֵֽ֑ל — יִשְׂרָאֵֽ֑ל Israel פ — פ – וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ — וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ and–were בְנֵֽי־ — בְנֵֽי־ sons–of– יַעֲקֹ֖ב — יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob שְׁנֵ֥ים — שְׁנֵ֥ים two עָשָֽׂר׃ — עָשָֽׂר׃ ten
And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23 בְּנֵ֣י — בְּנֵ֣י sons–of לֵאָ֔ה — לֵאָ֔ה Leah בְּכ֥וֹר — בְּכ֥וֹר firstborn–of יַעֲקֹ֖ב — יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob רְאוּבֵ֑ן — רְאוּבֵ֑ן Reuben וְשִׁמְעוֹן֙ — וְשִׁמְעוֹן֙ and–Simeon וְלֵוִ֣י — וְלֵוִ֣י and–Levi וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה — וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה and–Judah וְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר — וְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר and–Issachar וּזְבוּלֻֽן׃ — וּזְבוּלֻֽן׃ and–Zebulun
The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24 בְּנֵ֣י — בְּנֵ֣י sons–of רָחֵ֔ל — רָחֵ֔ל Rachel יוֹסֵ֖ף — יוֹסֵ֖ף Joseph וּבִנְיָמִֽן׃ — וּבִנְיָמִֽן׃ and–Benjamin
The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25 וּבְנֵ֤י — וּבְנֵ֤י and–sons–of בִלְהָה֙ — בִלְהָה֙ Bilhah שִׁפְחַ֣ת — שִׁפְחַ֣ת maidservant–of רָחֵ֔ל — רָחֵ֔ל Rachel דָּ֖ן — דָּ֖ן Dan וְנַפְתָּלִֽי׃ — וְנַפְתָּלִֽי׃ and–Naphtali
And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26 וּבְנֵ֥י — וּבְנֵ֥י and–sons–of זִלְפָּ֛ה — זִלְפָּ֛ה Zilpah שִׁפְחַ֥ת — שִׁפְחַ֥ת maidservant–of לֵאָ֖ה — לֵאָ֖ה Leah גָּ֣ד — גָּ֣ד Gad וְאָשֵׁ֑ר — וְאָשֵׁ֑ר and–Asher אֵ֚לֶּה — אֵ֚לֶּה these בְּנֵ֣י — בְּנֵ֣י sons–of יַעֲקֹ֔ב — יַעֲקֹ֔ב Jacob אֲשֶׁ֥ר — אֲשֶׁ֥ר who יֻלַּד־ — יֻלַּד־ were–born– ל֖וֹ — ל֖וֹ to–him בְּפַדַּ֥ן אֲרָֽם׃ — בְּפַדַּ֥ן אֲרָֽם׃ in–Paddan–Aram
And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan–aram.
27 וַיָּבֹ֤א — וַיָּבֹ֤א and–came יַעֲקֹב֙ — יַעֲקֹב֙ Jacob אֶל־ — אֶל־ to– יִצְחָ֣ק — יִצְחָ֣ק Isaac אָבִ֔יו — אָבִ֔יו his–father מַמְרֵ֖א — מַמְרֵ֖א Mamre קִרְיַ֣ת הָֽאַרְבַּ֑ע — קִרְיַ֣ת הָֽאַרְבַּ֑ע Kiriath–Arba הִ֣וא — הִ֣וא it חֶבְר֔וֹן — חֶבְר֔וֹן Hebron אֲשֶׁר־ — אֲשֶׁר־ where– גָּֽר־ — גָּֽר־ sojourned– שָׁ֥ם — שָׁ֥ם there אַבְרָהָ֖ם — אַבְרָהָ֖ם Abraham וְיִצְחָֽק׃ — וְיִצְחָֽק׃ and–Isaac
And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28 וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ — וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ and–were יְמֵ֣י — יְמֵ֣י days–of יִצְחָ֑ק — יִצְחָ֑ק Isaac מְאַ֥ת — מְאַ֥ת hundred שָׁנָ֖ה — שָׁנָ֖ה year וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים — וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים and–eighty שָׁנָֽה׃ — שָׁנָֽה׃ year
And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29 וַיִּגְוַ֨ע — וַיִּגְוַ֨ע and–expired יִצְחָ֤ק — יִצְחָ֤ק Isaac וַיָּ֙מָת֙ — וַיָּ֙מָת֙ and–he–died וַיֵּאָ֣סֶף — וַיֵּאָ֣סֶף and–he–was–gathered אֶל־ — אֶל־ to– עַמָּ֔יו — עַמָּ֔יו his–people זָקֵ֖ן — זָקֵ֖ן old וּשְׂבַ֣ע — וּשְׂבַ֣ע and–full יָמִ֑ים — יָמִ֑ים days וַיִּקְבְּר֣וּ — וַיִּקְבְּר֣וּ and–buried– אֹת֔וֹ — אֹת֔וֹ him עֵשָׂ֥ו — עֵשָׂ֥ו Esau וְיַעֲקֹ֖ב — וְיַעֲקֹ֖ב and–Jacob בָּנָֽיו׃ — בָּנָֽיו׃ his–sons פ — פ –
And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
